Default LF: Rolls of speaker wire

Does anyone have a left over reels of speaker wire. I am looking to run speakers all over my house and want to buy some left over reels rather than new ones. I would prefer 14 guage but am open to anything.

The new goggles also do nothing.

I'll check, but I'll also suggest monoprice:

About how much are you looking for? Like total length?

Prices are good but shipping makes it pretty expensive. Plust I don't know if there is going to be additional duties and brokerage. Have you ordered from there before?

Any lengths. I want to do a pair to my deck, my garage and satellites in my bonus room. I would guess I will need close to 200 feet.

Hopefully I can find a few partial reels somewhere. I may just quit being so cheap and go buy some from home depot or princess auto.

Some times you will get dinged for duties when using Monoprice. the Brokerage is a fixed 5$ if using USPS, and if using one of their UPS options, brokerage is included, so if you get dinged its only for GST, which isn't all that bad.

I would highly suggest monoprice, great product at great price.

The reason I asked is I picked up a partial roll from The Source a few months ago when they were selling off their old Radio Shack stock. It's a 500 foot roll, and it looks like the one I got has about 400 feet on it.

Now the reason I bought it was because it was cheap, and I wanted to have some on hand in case I happened to need it in the future. So it's not that I want to get rid of it, but if you wanted to by some it would be cheaper than getting it retail.

It's the 14 gauge in wall shielded stuff in case that might work.

Hey Ken, Let me know if you want to sell it and I will buy it for sure. I should have bought a roll then too but didn't think I would be doing this many runs. I can also give you back the leftovers.

I just recently order the 500ft 14AWG CL2 Rate Speaker wire from Monopirce in Sept-09. The cost was $92.40USD for the wire, plus $66.70USD for the express shipping (I needed it really quickly as my drywallers were coming in less than 4 days), for a total of 159.10USD. It worked out to be about $175CDN plus about $9.00 of GST that the UPS guy collected.

All in all, it worked out to about $0.37 per foot, or about $1.21 per meter (which I think is very comparable to Home Depot). I can't vouch for the quality as I have yet to connect the speakers, but the price was okay for me. Again, I check a few home depots in the summer, and they all seemed to be out of stock, which is why I went to Monoprice.

Also, I ended up buying another 200ft through home depot any ways, as I underestimated how much I needed. (I wired my basement for home theater, and zones for bedroom and other rooms). My advice would be to order more, and save the hassle of driving back and forth to get more product.

The 500ft speaker wire comes in a box, not a spool, and its one of the boxes that you can pull the wire out of (which make life really easy). You mentioned you need to go to the deck, and garage, and you may want to check out the 500ft.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your project.

I've got a box of Stinger high end in wall speaker wire, used less than 100ft ( we sold house ) of the 500ft.

it's 14/4 wire ( 4 wires )

Only used 1/2 of what i thought cause I just ran 1 run to 2 boxes since it had 4 wires I just used 2 wires per box. Except for my mains I ran all 4.

$120.00 for the box if you want
