Ok so lets say you became the owner of a new NBA team. Who, out of current players playing in the NBA today, would you want if you could pick ONE player from any team.
I would have to say Lebron James. He is doing everything right and the scariest part is, he can only get better....

No questions. King James. The complete package on the court and the right type of personality to be the face of a franchise off the court.

Tim Duncan. He's got his ring, he's experinced, he's an amazing team player. He goes out there every night and works his ass off.

I also would pick Lebron. Unselfish player, good personality and has the potential to become a legend.
One of his career goals is to average a triple double. This guy wants to be the best and will do everything he can to make it happen.

I can see where you are coming from, but don't you think that a greal deal of sports is in how much money you can make? I would have to believe that in all aspects James would be a bigger draw and make you more money as a franchise.
James is averaging numbers that only Jordan could do... He is the first player since Jordan to average over 25ppg, 7 apg, and 7 rpg. He is amazing!!!

steve nash. he's the little white dude from canada who made it. i can relate to that in someway, which i can't really relate to most people in that sport. kinda like why most americans dont like hockey because they cant relate to growing up with ice all around them.

I want Kobe on my team - what's the fun in having a good player - I want to have a rapist whom I can bail out once a year when he gets himself in trouble.
Actually, I'd go with James... he's an awesome player, and has an awesome attitude as well. He's also incredibly marketable, can't go wrong with him.

Good points I see it as Duncans got the ring. Duncan has a better chance of taking his team to the promise land. Lebron may draw more people but as an Owner I want that ring a little more so I go Duncan.
Lebron is amazing but I'm still not sold on his outside game. In my mind, and easier said then done, if he's kept to the outside for most his shots you can beat the guy. Tim Duncan has nearly no flaws. He can hit the outside jump shot and is a powerhouse inside.
Lebron James is gonna go down in history and is making the NBA what it is right now.

Then again Lebron could win you as many if not more championships than Tim Duncan. Lebron's jumpshot is something that can and will improve and he still has many years left in him. The situation DD mentioned is that you take control of a new franchise, so Lebron is a perfect player to build around, although I can see where your coming from picking Duncan.

Have to agree....
Duncan is a dominant player... but in my opinion Shaq is even more dominant. With that being said, neither Shaq nor Duncan could change a game with 2 seconds left on the clock and down by two. That is where I would pick a player like James.
I have a feeling that James is going to win a couple of rings in his career.

Kevin Garnett. I think he's the most complete player in the game.
I saw an article in one of the big sports magazines that posed the question is Lebron James the best player ever. Now I will probably never like the kid because that is simply the stupidest question ever asked in the history of sports. Not his fault or doing of course, but the hype surrounding him has been over the top since he was 16. He's got a long way to go before he can be mentioned in the same breath as Michael Jordan and others.
