I didn't know where to ask this where it would actually get some views...
Does anyone have DirecTV down in the states? I (as in burnsidet ) am working on something for the CofRed website and I can't quite figure out how 215 is NHL Network and then 215 is NHL Network HD as well.
Do they just show the game on one channel and if you have HD you get HD, if you don't then you get the SD version?
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.

Yes, both are broadcast as channel 215. All of the other HD channels in their basic packages are the same way.
The Center Ice and Sunday Ticket channels all have an SD as well as an HD broadcast. For example, they are listed as 770 for the SD feed, and 770-1 for the HD feed.
I can't explain the reasoning for the difference in listing. Not sure I even answered your question, LOL.
No that helps a lot. I was so confused at first trying to find the stupid channel for just SD NHL-N. But now I understand how it works.
So basically if I listed NHLCI for DirecTV and put 771 everyone who had HD programming would understand to hit in 771-1 to get it in HD...or would I be smart to put in both channels for the newbs?
