Default Quick TV Question for the Experts Here

Okay, I'll make this quick, I'm getting a new HDTV for gaming only, I need it to be in 1080p or 1080i, I've found a decent TV (from what I know at least), but I'm not entirely sure if the specs are impressive or if they won't be good for gaming, etc.

This is the TV:

I don't know if it's important, but I have an XBOX 360.

Can anyone help me out here, and tell me if the TV is any good?

Thanks

That is a nice looking TV that should work very well for gaming with a console, very good price too for a 1080p

Yeah, you can't go wrong with that. At 32 inches, LCD is pretty much your only bet. There is the 120mhz units that supposed to be better with games, but I never noticed a difference side by side.

Going by this thread the LH30 and KVWs tests, it's supposed to be the best or at least one of the best TVs for input lag. It also seems to have a fine picture with its S-IPS panel. LG is also one of the few TV brands that make their own panels. The only problem I've heard with the S-IPS panels is that their black level isn't as good as say some Samsungs but their colours are better. Also there may be an audio synch problem with some LG TVs but for me this is minor.

As you can probably guess I own 2 LG TVs, one a LG37 LH40 (this has the 120hz but it has worse lag for gaming than the LH30 as the less processing the better) and am happy with both.

So this TV should have very little lag and delay?

Is the refresh rate, or response time the more important spec to look at when you need minimal lag?

From what I understand a higher refresh rate won't help for gaming. Response time is a different measurement from lag and is not to be relied upon as the manufacturers each use different measurement standards. Lag refers to the time you pull a trigger and how long it takes for the picture to react and is something that manufacturers don't release. Maybe some gamers here can give a better explanation. That first link I gave you gives some tests for lag from a gamer.

From what I read from the review and the forum that were linked, this particular series of HD TVs from LG is very good for gaming because of its small lag, so I think I might be getting this one.

Thanks for the help
