Default Calgarypuckers championship season!

The indy league team won last night, but in even bigger news, this city's pre-eminent softball squad stormed Drumheller this weekend and walked away with the c pool championship! It is, of course, the first title claimed by any of our fine forum's representative teams.

In other, minor, news, Shawnski's team won the A pool. And the league title. And most of the door prizes...

And seriously, Shawnski, why the heck do you keep scheduling our team vs. yours in the round robin? At least we held you to 11...

Only downside is that we got just 3. A one run loss, and an 11-8 defeat later, and our rope-a-dope scheme played out perfectly, as we clobbered a team of college drunks in the C semifinals before wrapping the season up with a tight 11-9 (or was it 12-10?) final in the title game. Our fine squad of lads and lasses overcame much adversity, including two of us getting spiked by runners sliding into the bases (don't worry Shawnski, it was accidental), and one player battling the flu the entire tournament. Nevermind that half our team is still on the DL. How's the foot, Cowboy?

And yes, believe it or not SW, Redvan actually hit a home run over the fence today that bounced and rolled halfway to Calgary. Didn't quite fare so well in the home run derby though. He also pitched five complete games.

Kerplunk should have the championship team photo up at some point.

But if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pass out now. Looking forward to next year already!

I had a thread all prepared to post up, but the lady had plans for me... to take her out to dinner.

At long last, we finally have concrete proof we are better than the SW team haha.

Good season guys! I'm happy that we put it all together at the exact right time.

Here's what I got so far...I think the link should work. Too lazy to link all of them here, so an album is what you get for now.

I put in a pic of Resolute staring blankly at a ball cause he wasn't in last years photo book.

Now where did I put the flexall....

Well, we won the "How fast can you get a game cancelled due to drunkeness and literally scare the refs out of the arena" championship. That's got to count for something.

It says: Note - Gamed called at 9:07 in second period - Calgary Puckers drunk, as per ref #15.

Call me biased, but that tournmament cements the reason I think this league is the best one in Calgary, bar none. Wow, what a party... I just woke up after a 13 hour sleep.

Congrats to the CPers in their first tournament win!

From our Taz road to victory, we had a solid round robin as did our "A" finalist counterparts, the Loonie Toons. Heavy Metal, our first game on Sunday, threw us a BIG scare! They were up 8-0 after the first 3 innings. But by the bottom of the seventh, we were tied and had an opportunity to push one last run across the plate for the win. Couldn't do it. So off to extra innings we go. Even playing with International rules (one runner starts at second base), they couldn't score a run. Our turn, and I get the shot to score our winning run. Phew!!! Too close for comfort!

We probably played our best game in years against the Loonie Toons in the final, winning something like 19-9. Our bats were hot and our defense was making some incredible plays.

It's only the second time we have won it all in Drumheller, and that is after 15 years of playing out there.

Oh, and we didn't win all the door prizes!! Hell, we only won one pair of shades.

Lastly, I don't have any pictures of the beautiful lesbians from the dance floor. Sorry.

That's what I missed for going to bed at a decent hour?
