I have a few chips in my windshield (3-4) I need to get them filled so they dont crack more. Where would you guys reccemend me get this done?
I've heard that some places will do them for free in thoughts that you will then get new windows from them later. Unfortunately I dont know of any places like this in Calgary. Do any of you?

Aren't there guys that are in the parking lots (like crowfoot) that have little stands. I've heard they're good.

If they're small enough, I'd do them myself. You can buy the kits at Canadian tire. I think they say for single use only, but you can easily fill 2 or 3 with one kit. I remember them being around $10...

I recently had this done for the first time on my Focus. It looks like crap and I might as well have pulled out $70 cash and lit it on fire. Wait for your windsheild to get to the point of no return and just replace it.

I've done it myself 3 times and I now have to look VERY closely to find the spots where the rock had hit

Was yours a big crack or something?

No it was a pretty decent stone chip, so I went to Apple and had them look at it. The guy examined it and said it was "a good candidate for repair" so I got it done. I'd say 75-80% of the chip is still clearly visible. I complained bitterly to no avail.

Whats the do-it-yourself stuff from Canadian Tire called? I'll go and give that a try.

I thought the point of a chip repair wasn't to make it invisible; but instead to make sure it didn't turn into a crack.

They told me beforehand it would be almost invisible when they were done. I got the shaft.

Crystal Glass on MacLeod across from Chinook has been pretty good for us, both on windshield replacements and chip repairs. I'd use them again.

These are the parking lot guys. I used to do stuff like that on the side. It works very well and isn't too pricey.
I"m not sure if they'll still be outside in this weather though.

I had a small chip in my windshield, and I took it to this place on 17th Ave. SE. I can't remember the name of it, but they did a good job. I can hardly even notice there was a chip there.

On the way to work today I got a rock chip the size of a quarter and I took it to GlassMasters Autoglass and they did a good job. It was $25 for the first and $10 for any additional ones. I've also been to Cal-Alta and they were good too, $20 for the first and $10 for additional.

I recently had a bad experience with Dynasty auto glass. Lied to me and performed incomplete work, apparently, they have a history of this.
