3 to 4 NCHL winter league players needed
Edit: Still looking, 3 of my pick ups fell through. So back to needing 3 guys.
Hey guys. If anyone is interested I have 3 to 4 winter roster spots available for my NCHL team The Pylons. We are a C level team and have a really solid core of players. In other words, we don't have any ankle skaters. We play out of the South and Fees are 620 for the season which guarantees you 31 games. PM me if you are interested of you can find my phone number on our team website here:

I play in the D division. I feel the league is a decent value for the $620; I've had a good experience in my first season (summer). I'd recommend this league to someone looking to play through the winter.
Pylon, with a record of 12-3, maybe your team should try out the B division. Although, the Demons were in my division to start the year and went 7-2-1 before being bumped up to your C division. Since, they have gone 1-4 ... maybe the divisions are quite a bit better as you move up.

Yeah, NCHL tends to have a significant difference between the divisions, where as a league like HNA, your team can be competetive in 2 or 3 divisions.

I play in the E division a team was 10 - 0 in the EII so they moved them up and they've played 3 games and lost by a combined score of 37 - 6 and lost all 3 games.

I played a couple seasons ago in HNA Div. A and averaged about 2 points a game and I am about to start the winter season on a friends team in NCHL Div.C,(north) but I was told the NCHL is a little more competitive and it shouldn't be too much of a drop in skill level. My old HNA would actually regularly beat B teams by over 8 goals a game.
Anyone with any thoughts about how close the difference is between A and C in this league??

We did have a good summer I will admit. We have a couple players that will not be returning that are a signifigant reason why are record was so good. That being said, we also have an unbelievable goalie, probably one of the best in the entire NCHL, and that has always been a huge factor in our success. Our first season together, we had games where he would end up with 60+ shots and still keep the score respectable.
As far as the difference between divisions in the NCHL, A is pretty fast, and has a lot of ex Junior or University guys, but the difference between B and C is more or less going to be speed. The best C teams could beat the worst B teams and vice versa. We probably would have made an ok B team if went to that division but we wouldn't have gone 12-3.
All in all, NCHL is a pretty good league, and their lack of tolerance for dirty play, and fighting tends to keep things pretty much under control. Usually if the refs see things getting too rowdy between two players, as opposed with slapping guys with misconducts and major penalties that can get you kicked out of the league pretty fast, they will give you each two and just tell you to go home so things don't escalate. I actually do respect that. Take the fuel away from the fire. I've had my share of go home earlies, and always about 10 minutes after, you realise it was for the better.

Sorry to hijack, but does anyone have any input on CAHL?
We're looking at putting a team into it's div 2, but have no idea what it's comparable to skill wise.

This is the snazzy uniform you'll get to wear.
Observe our team effectively using 3 players in one corner in the arena to break out of our own zone....lol

ya thats my team
we've now lost all 4 games weve played in E (with another game tomorrow night, which in all likelyhood we will probably lose as well)
I was however told that our GM got an email from the league yesterday saying they f'd up and will be putting us back in EII for the playoffs, because I guess the team they moved down has just steam rolled EII
I think they need an E.5 because the difference in skill between E and EII is night and day

Yeah we were thinking that when we played you (Cougar Hunters II), I generally don't like to run up the score but we were thinking we might end up in a bigger fight with the SS Hitmen to move up in the standings so I said to keep scoring but try to keep the celebrating to a minimum. Last Winter I played against a team that beat us 13 - 4, and they celebrated every goal like it was the overtime stanley cup winner.
One of our players was talking to one of yours and he was saying you were winning but only by a goal or 2 a game and it was always close so yeah they messed it up pretty good, I guess atleast they admitted they made a mistake and are fixing it.

I'd be all over that except I can't afford two teams and another $600

Does the NCHL still have all those brutally late icetimes??
I'm looking for another team but it depends on the times. The last time I played NCHL it was all 11:00 in Chestermere or Okotoks, and if that's the case forget it.

You should play for the Puckers, we have one open spot, and we're playing HNA, which has half your ice times starting before 10pm. It's not great, but you're also not playing at 11:30 every week.

Putting out the call again. We got moved to div B because of our success in the summer. So if you are looking for some pretty competitive hockey, this is your chance. No ankle skaters once you hit B and higher.

What's the deal with no schedule out yet, I thought the NCHL was supposed to start next week, it seems like every other league has their schedule out already.

If you can somehow make the costs a tad more affordable, you've got a winger.

I know eh? The GM of the team I play for in NCHL sent me an email a few days ago saying the games start on the week of the 6th. Well it's sep 3rd, and I'm heading out of town for the long weekend, and still have no idea when we play.
