Default America's Got Talent 2009

well my guilty pleasure show of the summer is back, though i really only pay attention to the auditions and first sets of live vote shows before the variety acts get weeded off. i have to say though that these 3 kids singing is one of my favorite acts that i've seen on this show

i'll admit i got a bit verklempt at the end when they brought the mom out on stage

though my top favorite act so far this year has to be this one, gives hope to fat guys everywhere

what a smoking little hottie of a wife

I still can't believe that Nick Cannon is married to Mariah Carey.

As for the singing....amazing. I got shivers.

The dance or whatever was really cool. The dude should lose at least a bit of weight though to keep the stress of her back.

I liked the coal miner guy or whatever with the frisbee dog. I want a dog like that.

I never watch this show. I think its silly and pretty boring... but then again I have the same opinion on most reality shows.

And you had to come in the thread and say that.

What part of, if you don't like the thread don't read it do you not seem to be getting? Or do you just enjoy being this abrasive and annoying people on the internet?

And I know you hated Michael Jackson, but come on, do you need to try and make jokes about that? You made you points about him, perhaps you could let that rest to from here in.

Sorry... I'll try to refrain from giving my opinion on anything that I don't like from now on.
As for the MJ joke... yes it was uncalled for.... truly sorry about that. no more MJ jokes.

I just don't see how comments about I don't watch this show for this reason, contribute to a thread. If you had opinions on the contestants because you watched it and wanted to disagree with someone in the thread, than it's adding to the discussion. So it's fine to have opinions, but they should contribute to the discussion, not come accross as some random drive by.

On topic, I caught the guy who closed out the show on Tuesday night with the really deep voice, that was pretty good. Had the audience watching in a great mood when they left that place.

You are absolutely right. I will start a new thread... "Reality TV: Worth watching or not?"

Sorry. I'll try not to do it again.

My wife and I love this show, it's good for laughs and entertaining when you get the really talented people as well. It's easy to pick out the ones who have a shot at all - I like the illusionists this year and only really appreciate the singers that wouldn't fit elsewhere. I'm more into the 'variety' type acts.

Really confused about some of the acts that they put through, like when I can tell you don't have a chance, why are you going to Vegas? How do some of these people think folks would pay to go to Vegas to watch them toe dance or whatever?

That being said - I'd love to fly down to Vegas at some point to catch Terry Fator's show. He was/is awesome.

Wow just watching tonights episode and there was a lady that had a cleft palate, I believe that it has been repaired as much as it can, but anyways. Listening to her speaking voice I thought she was not going to make it,but when she started signing she was amazing. Then at the end, the look on her face when the audience gave her a standing O, it was great.
This is why I like this show.

Let's be honest, what makes this show is the Hoff. Period.

That guy loves everyone, and everything. And when I dream about decking that ######bag talentless poor version of Simon from American Idol who tries way too hard to be smug, the camera always pans back to the Hoff, whom you could entertain with a blade of grass- and I giggle.

what makes him awesome is that he is cool in the sarcastic way, like teenagers wearing shirts with bands that they hate, or the guy in your office with the wicked porn mustache, yet he laps it up like he's a superstar. i'm not sure if he's aware that people are laughing at him and not with him because i question his intelligence level, but it's great all the same

Yup. We should add a poll:

Who would win in a debate about anything?
1) The Hoff
2) A broom.

I decided to randomly turn this show on a few weeks ago. I really don't want to like it but I can't help myself... it's like watching the first few weeks of American Idol so I can see all the really bad people.

Anyway. This kid was unreal! However, the show really starts to lose it's relevance when the disco dancing 74 year old got through to Vegas.
