A little public service message here folks.

I was picking up my dinner tonight - thought I'd go for a little KD with wieners cut up in it - a culinary classic. However, upon my trip to the grocery store I came across Kraft Deluxe Macorroni and Cheese, and figured if its "Deluxe" it has to be good.

Dear god. It was horrible.

I'm now stuck here with a bowl of gross of delux KD in my gut. I'm not full but the experience was so grody that I've lost my appetitie.

My advice is simple - don't mess with a classic - stick to regular KD, or if your feeling a little nutty Spirals. But go no further.

You can nuke it if you want. But I did it the normal way. Its the sauce that is mega-gross.

Is it the one with the liquid sauce in the squishy pouch? Blecch.

Although, the "Kraft Shells and Cheese" style pasta dish is delicious in that manufactured way. Costs about 5 times as much as regular KD but you get at least 5 times as much fat and MSG so it equals out.

have any of you guys ever had Annie's macaroni and cheese? mmmm mmmm good, and nowhere near the amount of trash injected into it. Although I think its the trash that makes kraft dinner so great.

I really really like the "sharp cheddar" version of KD. Much much better than the original in my opinion.

So you can look forward to waking up in the middle of the night to shotgun blast the toilet bowl.

President's choice white chedder is good too.
The President's choice is very good. I find it better then KD because it has a better taste.

This thread has convinced me to make some KD right now (I like to shred up some cheese into the bowl and serve it with some BBQ sauce.

The use of the term bowl has made me wonder, why the hell do they call it the super bowl if they don't give out a bowl?

I recently found my new super cheap, KD-like, favorite food. Lipton Singapore Curry Noodles. A semi-new addition to their whole sidekick-sidedish collection which has been around forever.

You can usually pick them up for about $1 to $1.25 per package and it makes one very big meal, or two regular sized. I throw in some mini-meatballs from M&M and I'm set.

I'm getting a craving just typing this.....

i had $5 to spend on groceries for a week once and ended up buying the $0.33 KD knock-off at zellers.

the noodles never soften totally but the cheeze is out of this world, best i've ever had in that food style.

I made my FD last night with some nice Havardi and I also threw in some aged chedder (just stuff I forget to use) and then I added some spicy cheese nacho sauce, and some of that tomatoe crap with herbs that is liek brushetta or something, and it turned out to be some of the best damn stuff I have ever had to eat. Strongly recomend. A bit of a twist on a classic.... next week I try pizza with tomatoes on top...

Simply put this is the best gourmet custom KD cooking method:

Boil half dozen weiners. Make sure they are the narliest, most cheapest variety you can get your hands on. Bulk is my favourite. Make sure to use a fair bit of water - trust me on this one.

Once you are satisfied that all nutrional value has been rendered out of the weiners, set them aside but DO NOT pour away the water.

Here comes the gourmet part: Now boil the 'pasta' in the reserved weiner water. Mmmmmmm........pork by-product infused pasta!

Chop up the cooked weiners into the pasta and cheese and presto! As fotze said so well....wait for the shotgun blast into the toilet bowl but it may come sooner than normally.

^^^Actually when it comes to KD I'm all about the egg noodle variety. They are quicker to cook so when you need your KD fix you can get it in a hurry.
