Wild dip their toe in free agent pool
The Minnesota Wild are pleased to announce the signings of UFAs Mike Zigomanis and Ryan Bayda. Both players signed 3 year deals with the Wild. As per club policy terms were not released.
GM Farhall:
"We were primarily looking for inexpensive guys that could play on our PK and 4th lnie - and these guys fit the bill perfectly. They are also in a good age range which is why we were able to sign them beyond this season.".
Farhall also commented on why the club didn't go after any more notable free agents
"We actually made a ton of offers to various free agents but ultimately we weren't even close....we have a lot of money already tied up in our core players. We went after some guys but they were able to get much larger offers elsewhere."
The Wild's roster is pretty much set for the upcoming season. The club is expected to name its captains within the next couple of days.
