Find a Home for Ronan
Greetings,
Ronan is a 7 month old mixed Lab. His mother was a labrador retriever and his father was a berenese mt dog. He is black with one white strip down his nose and belly. He isn't neutered but he is the opposite of dominant, he is a companion dog who just wants to by your side.
I found him when I moved up here and he is a great dog. Doesn't bark, can sit give paw and lay down. He loves children, and babies. He has spent the last 3 monthes around young babies. 6-9months old.
He is the perfect family dog.
Unfortunantly my x husband moved back to NS and I can't afford a place that will have big dogs by myself. SO EXTREMELY RELUCTANTLY I am trying to find the BEST HOME possible for him.
If you know anyone who loves dogs and has been waiting for the right one, or anybody who fosters dogs and finds familys for them I am running out of time. I have to move out by the end of Augest.
PM if you can help me out.
PS he is named after Ronan from Star Gate Atlantis, and the Ronan brief case machine gun in 007 n64 version.

If he is genuinely a good natured dog, with no issues (ie no separation anxiety, food guarding) then you can hand him in at the Calgary Humane Society. IF, he does have any problems, don't whatever you do hand him in there as it IS a kill-shelter and dogs with issues are euthanised. Otherwise it is worth going through the no-kill shelters. Canmore (called Bow Valley SPCA) is fantastic. Pound Rescue, Heaven Can Wait are two that also come to mind. They all have websites and can be googled easily. Good luck.

What about Cochrane Humane, or ARF? (Animal Resuce Foundation) I don't know if they are kill or no-kill, to be honest. But we got one dog from each organization and they are awesome dogs.
If I didn't have two already I'd be interested too. I wish I could adopt more.
Edit: Maybe pictures would help Ronan's cause? A cute dog face might help get people more motivated!!

There's also Little Mutts Rescue. 403 242 9663. They're no-kill, but specifically deal with smaller dogs. If Ronan isn't too big yet, they might be able to help.

she is looking for a good home not a shelter... to me that would be a last ditch, no other options, route. She has until the end of August... those shelters are busy enough, if at all possible finding a CP'er that has a home for this pup or a friend that has a home would be a lot better.
If there was a picture I could show it off to a few people at work... A lab/bmd cross should not be hard to find a home for, both breeds are fantastic dogs to own, a mix is probably just as much fun.
I think his name is could very easily be Ronin: much cooler - lol, and dogs are terrible spellers so he wont even notice...
A ronin (浪人, rōnin?) was a samurai with no lord or master during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. A samurai became masterless from the ruin or fall of his master, or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who replied. Ronan has found a wonderfull home where we can still visit him and he has another big dog to play with all day. Again thank you, sorry for the delay in information. I was moving and had no internet.
