Some experts predict that spyware will be written directy targetting firefox within the year. This could be interesting to see how it unfolds, and how the Open Source community responds. Will they be able to close the holes? Or will FireFox go the way of IE, basically discounting Open Source software as no better than properitery software.

i would think in general that open source and spyware depend on the same tap for existence:

bored, young, brilliant, college kids.

i see a great future for open source, on general principle alone. GNU C++ that i used to find real actual solutions at work for convinced me.
