Since nobody has answered your question, I say go with Fitz flooring. It rhymes with Fotze. No brainer.
Those stair nosings are crazy expensive, so you might need to specify the width and number of stairs and what type of wood you want, unless you already have pricing on all of that.

Hardwood on stairs. Beware when drunk or tired or sick or wearing socks.

yeah those nosings are expensive. Are the stairs open or closed? I have both - open and closed, for the open ones I was thinking about just getting slabs of wood (which is essentially what it is already, wrapped with carpet) and staining them. Figured it'd be a lot cheaper than getting hardwood. I've seen in it a buddies house who put probably $250,000+ renos in his townhouse. He didn't do it to save money. I think it was just "an option" they chose... I never thought about it before, then saw them and realized it was just nice wood stained or painted.
As for someone, Flames Gimp might know someone if he's no longer doing it.
What I'll try to do: (his look better and are a dark/rich colour)
This one looks better, without the turn though

Our stairs are stone tile with hardwood on the edges. Looks sharp. Not cheap.

Yeah - I had a tiling guy come to do a quite, suggested that for the front door landing, entry stairwell. Tile the entry by front door and garage door, then tile the stairs withe the hardwood on the perimeter, to match the hardwood in the living room. Sounded great! Priced not so great

This is what it looks like from the top of the entry stairwell.
And from the bottom (it's finished now).

That is exactly what I have minus the tile by the front door.

Has anybody used Fitz Flooring or Century Flooring?
I have done the get some guy someone knows to install it and I'd rather go to someone I've heard of even if it costs more.

I've dealt with both over the years and I think you'd be happy with either one fotze. Get an estimate from both to help make your decision easier.

Don't you have little ones? Why do you want hardwood stairs?
We are seriously considering carpeting over our hardwood on the main floor. Hardwood looks great, but when you have little ones, not so functional.

You won't be saying this when your carpet is trashed in 6 months .... We have hardwood stairs and hardwood in all areas except the bedrooms and haven't had any incidents with 3 young kids ... cleanup is easy, would never go back to carpet. Nobody has fallen down the stairs.
Only recommendation would be to pay the extra money for a harder wood to prevent dings as much as possible ... never gonna stop them entirely though.

PM me. I had a Russian guy do hardwood for me on two floors, plus stairs, plus laminate in the basement for a very small amount of cash. Excellent work.

Depending on what kind of hardwood you use. for the wood, you go $3-12/sq foot. For labor, installing it $2/foot (2.50 if you want it on a 45 degree angle, or even more if you want a herring bone, or borders or such), sanding and staining another 2.50/ft. not sure what they charge for stairs.

If you want a quote for your project, go here: http://www.renolink.ca/contractors/f...g-contractors/
I can tell you that $10/sq.ft. is a reasonable budget number for decent HW. You'll want to add at least $4 ($14/sq.ft.) if you're doing stairs. The cost goes up if you can't use off-the-shelf noising.

I paid about $12,000 about a year ago to have around 1,100 square feet plus a stairway done. It was the first time the guy had done a major set of stairs though and he said he underbid it. So that's consistent with Micvanlen's $10/sq ft price.

One word of advice ... don't buy any flooring from Taiga Building Products, or from any of their distributors. Long story cut short ... just don't do it.

I'm not sure about the hardwood but i bought my blinds from Fitz and was fairly happy until i tried to get a replacement blind for one window. The sales lady told me they stopped selling that brand because they weren't a very good product and their sales people were pushing them because they were getting some kind of kick back(her words) from the manufacture. I couldn't believe she was saying this to me. Then she wanted ~550 bucks to replace one small window and on top of that wanted to charge me over ~125 bucks for installation. I couldn't do it myself because it would void any warranty(her words again). What a rip-off, nice way to support the product they sell and nice way to treat their clients. I will never go back there again!

For installation average prices are $6-$7/sq ft. Then the cost of the wood. I can get you the name of a really good floor layer who does it for $4/sq ft. PM me if you want the name.
