Two things that come to mind, if you haven't already seen them, are:

1. The Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller

2. Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump near Fort MacLeod

The Tyrrell Museum is a good idea, I haven't been there in ages. I did see the buffalo jump a few years ago.

Keep 'em coming!

WEM.

Lots of hikes in Kananaskis Country. Swing through Bragg Creek on the way back.

Holy crap buddy. Do you want us to drive you there to? Make you a lunch? Wipe your ass? Nice effort.

Go to the Christian museum. One of these days I'm going to make a road trip there myself.

Also, drive down highway 40 in Kananaskis and go on one of the billion day hikes they have in the area.

The Gopher Hole Museum in Torrington . . . . . how could you pass that up?

Get yourself trail guides for K-Country and Banff National Parks . . . . . you could occupy your weekends for years.

Pick a town, drive there and have lunch in the local greasy spoon. That's always an gastronomic adventure.

Sunday afternoon dinner theatre in Rosebud.

I know I gave no info, but hiking alone today isn't really something I had in mind. I appreciate the effort though people. I was thinking more like destinations and such.

If you haven't been there in ages, then you really should go as it will have changed a lot since the last time you were there. It's a great, world-class museum and well worth the visit.

Waterton Lakes Park is about a three-hour drive.

Dinosaur Provincial Park. Call ahead and make a reservation to go on a fossil excavation.

Drive to Red Deer and see the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.
Calaway Park if you have kids.
The Millarville Farmers Market is fun on a Sunday. (My bad, Saturday!)
I think that big mall is open tomorrow.
Bow Falls is just west on Hwy 22x and is a nice place to stroll around.
You could drive to Nanton and check out the plane museum.
Drive toward Banff and stop in at the new Stoney Nakoda casino.

Elbow Falls & the general area west on Highway 22x is nice for a summer drive / day trip / picnic.

A longer drive (2hrs each way), but still nice is down to Waterton.

Otherwise stick with the tried & true trips to Banff or K country.
