Wild/Rangers hook up

The Wild are pleased to announced the acquisitions of Cal Buttercluck and Jake Allen.

The pair were acquired via deal with the Rangers that sees Keith Yandle and 3rd round pick head back the other way.

GM Farhall:
"Cal is a guy we drafted and know very well. He hits like a truck, and has shown an ability to score at the NHL level...and we like his contract. As for Jake - as an organization we believe in having a very deep goalie pipeline and he's an excellent tender prospect we are pleased to add".

Rangers mission was clear, we needed to find a way to acquire another dman.

Losing Cal Clutterbuck hurts the depth charts... losing an ECHLer goalie is not a big deal in our view. That fellow had a tough playoff with his junior team and is probably 3 to 4 years away.

Now back to bugging Doug for one of his goalies....

Ya, deal makes sense. Yandle has more potential than Clutterbuck, so Allen makes up for that difference.

The trade fills a need for both sides.

I hope somone gives Clutterbuck a flying elbow in the preseason and ends his playing career for good.
