Default One of those Mornings

Its been one of those mornings. I was supposed to start work at 9 but I woke up at 9:10 and somehow got ready and made it to work by 9:30. The boss however was just happy to see me, as "she didnt know what she was going to do without me", so somehow I got lucky today.

So I was just wondering if anyone else has any good hungover/ late for work stories?

I had quit my job, gave my two weeks and two days before my last day we had a big poker game which lead to Thursday night drink downtown/after party til 5am. I somehow made it in to work at 9, shaved, got dress up and drove to work. I walked into the owners office (still drunk I believe) and told him I was done today.

Went home and passed out in a shirt, tie and dress pants til about 2pm.

I think the funniest late for work call I ever got was when the assistant manager called because I was hungover and late for work. She threatened to tell the boss on me. So I told her to go ahead and passed the phone to our boss, who was passed out on my couch.

I had an car accident on the way to work one snowy morning a couple of winters ago. Not my fault either. I called in to say I would be late and got thy sympathetic response I expected. A few weeks later that instance of being late was used against me for disciplinary purposes. I questioned my supervisor about it and her response was "It was unscheduled".

It's a good idea not to be late at the US Post Office.

I normally start work at 7:00 AM during the winter months, and I managed to wake up one day at 8:30 or so. Got to work around 9:15, was paid for the full day, and the bosses didn't say anything. Reason being is I'm not the complete fata-up that most of my co-workers are, so I don't think they really wanted to get mad at me. This was the day after a family Christmas party, and while I wasn't hungover, I just needed the extra sleep I guess. Can't argue with the body.

No, they go postal because the mail never stops. It just keeps coming, and coming, and coming, there's never a letup, it's relentless, every day it piles up more and more and more, and you gotta get it out, but the more you get it out the more it keeps coming in, and then the barcode reader breaks, and then there's publisher clearing house day!

I won't lie. After 5 years there I totally get why it happens. Not that I condone it....

Man, I wish. Our volume has dropped so much it's scary. Losing a billion dollars a month. That puts jobs in jeopardy.

Have you decided whether or not you're going to move to Calgary?

Me? I'm trying to get back to NW Montana where I'm from. This particular opportunity that I was talking about the other day is not looking promising at this point. It will happen eventually though.

I worked at Canadian Tire when I was younger and went into work one saturday very hungover. We had a sale on hand dollies and I had to go to the wearhouse to put them together and bring them up.

It took me 4 hours to put wheels on 6 dollies.
