GAME 6: BOMBERS at STAMPS
Terrible lost for the Stamps last game against the Riders. They lost due to inconsistent offense especially late in the game, missed field goal that was returned for a good chunk of yardage then ended up with the Riders TD after a blown man-to-man coverage by the Stamps defender. Riders could have been a easy picking due to their inconsistent QBs.
I don't think it is fair to blame the lost on Sandro's first missed field goal because the Stamps offense had a couple of more chances in scoring at least a field goal to win. Unfortunately Burris and company are out of sync on their last 4 plays of the game.
Running game was effective again last game but the rest of the offense were not that good. On defense, this is probably the worst they ever played in the last 3 games. They can't stop the running game and they can't stop the passing game.
Quarterback: Henry Burris had a off game last vs the Riders. Most noticeably was the last few plays at the end of the game. He either underthrown or overthrown a receiver. I find that he was forcing to get a first down every play at the end. I am sure Nik Lewis were open at one time for a short gain but you never know his YAC gain. Burris threw to Jackson, and Ralph.
--- Offense has to start hot this game. It is so tiring to see them start slow the last few games.
STARTER: Burris BACKUP: Nealy and Tate.
Running Back: Joffrey Reynolds was the one of the few positives for the Calgary offense. He was unstoppable. Jon Cornish were not too shabby either.
--- we saw what happenned when the offense mixed up their plays and when Reynolds is very effective. There's one instance where Burris faked the handout to Reynolds. That fooled the Riders defense and JOn Cornish were wide open for a TD.
STARTER: Reynolds, Johnson BACKUP: Cornish and Cote
Offensive Linemen: The OLine gave Reynolds lot of room again last game. They also gave Burris lots of time but Burris couldn't capitalize on his chances. OLine is playing well and hopefully it will stay playing well.
STARTER: Pilon, Newman, Lazeo, Tsoumpas and Archibald.
BACKUP: O'Neill, Gott, Ellis
Receiver: Not sure I agree that we missed Rambo last game. Thelwell did a heck of a job filling in for him. Unfortunately when Thelwell goes down in the 3rd quarter, the offense sort of dissappeared as well. Thelwell is questionable against the Bombers. If he can't play, Calgarian Blaine Kruger will fill in.
---- One thing I don't understand is not enough play thrown to Lewis. Also, why is Teyo Johnson not playing much. I really think he can help the offense. Big target and et al. Stamps should try to use their short yardage passes and let Lewis and others do their thing.
STARTER: Lewis, Copeland, Ralph, Jackson
BACKUP: Thelwell, Johnson.
Defensive Linemen: Where was Malik Jackson? Was he injured or just a healthy scratch. I don't understand why they would benched the game when he was awesome along with Odell Willis in pressuring Pierce and Jackson on BC game. Juwan Simpson played instead of Jackosn. Not saying Simpson is not good because the guy had a QB sack but with Willis and Jackson speed on the opposite sides, that give Labinjo and Johnson some room to go after the QB.
STARTER: Labinjo, Simpson, Willis, Johnson
BACKUP: Alain Kashama(injured), Robede, Phillips(injured), Fernand Kashama, Chevrier
Linebacking: Linebacking is actually not visible this season so far. They quietly do their thing.
STARTER: James, Carpenter and Blackmon
BACKUP: Black, Calixte, Grootegood, Raymond
Defensive Back: Amadi got birned on the last Riders TD. DBacks were actually played well except that last TD>
STARTER: Browner, Amadi, Tate, Anderson, Collins
BACKUP: Lysack, Raymond
Special Team: Okay, I guess the Stamps special team coverage cannot be perfect all season. Sandro finally missed a field goal and Dressler almost went all the way. The only reason he didn't score was because of Sandro.
GO STAMPS GO!!
MOre update before game day/time.

The Argos committed 7 (SEVEN!!) turnovers against last week, and the Bombers still only managed 13 points.
I'm hoping for a better offensive showing this week now that Bishop has gotten some more practices in, but I don't see how the Stamps lose at home to, I must admit, quite possibly the worst team in the league.

Is Hank going to perform another stupid touchdown dance only to see his team lose the game in the end?

ROSTER UPDATE:
Looks like R Ryan Thelwell is not playing today and DL Miguel Robede is a healthy scratch. Whatever happen to this guy. He played so well last season rotating on the DLine. This season, he's been scratch twice already. Calgarian R Blaine Kruger will replace Thelwell on the roster. As a side note, these would mark the 3rd father and son combo who suited up for the Stamps. Wayne Harris Sr./JR and Hal/Tom Krebs are the others.
Also Stamps are dressing up DB John Eubanks to replace Miguel Robede on the roster.
The Bombers will be playing without LB Sideeq Shabazz. As we all know Shabazz played exceptionally well against the Stamps on their first game against each other this season. He also got that INT TD late in the game.
NOTES:
Henry Burris is only 504 yards back of Flutie's Stamps all time passing yardage. Nik Lewis needs 39 receiving yards to reach 6,000 in his career and need 2 catches to hit 400 catches.
IN ORDER FOR STAMPS TO WIN:
Offense need to start fast. No more 2 and out in their first 4 possessions. Burris has to be in sync with his receivers fast. I think in order to do that, he'll need to start passing the ball to his slotback Lewis and Copeland. Burris can also make Reynolds involved a lot early in the game either by running the ball and doing short passes to him. Then when it works, the Stamps will confuse the Bombers' defense so there goes long passes to the wide receivers like Jackson, Ralph, Kruger and Ryan. Also, i am wondering how come the Stamps are not using Teyo Johnson as much this season. He can help as a blocker, slotback and once in awhile as a wide receiver. He is big and fast as well.
Another way for the Stamps to win is to stay AWAY from penalties(especially unnecessary ones). Our OLine have been playing well lately so I am hoping Burris and company will take advantage of it.
On Defense, Stamps need to pressure Bishop a lot more. I am hoping Malik Jackson is back to complement Odell Willis speed on the outside. With those guys speed, it will distract the Bombers OLine hence they will pay attention to the outside that will give the inside guys Johnson and Labinjo more one-on-one. Our DBs has to step up a little on this game and so as the LBs. Last game vs the Riders Wes Cates had a lot of room to run. Our LBs played so-so especially against the run. DBs also played so-so last game leaving some of the Riders receivers open especially that little runt Dressler and Chris Getzlaf.
To summarize, start fast, short yadage pass, mix up plays(run/pass), use the veteran receivers more (Lewis,Copeland and RB Reynolds). Defense needs more pressures on Bishop and DB and LB needs to play tight defense. Oh, avoid penalties.
I don't see how Winnipeg Blue Bombers beating the Stamps on this game. 7:30pm start at McMahon Stadium. It is on TSN (subject to blackouts). In other words, we might not see the game on TV tonight because I don't think this game is going to be a sellout.
GO STAMPS GO!!

Stamps have two possessions before Bombers got one.
But only 6-0. Burris has absolutely no vision.

The Bombers are soooooooooooooo bad.
I don't know how much longer I can watch them this season. Their offense is pathetic, and there is absolutely no punt return game.
Gah!

Damn it. The Stamps settle for the 3rd FG of the first half and second one from down by the goalline, 16-0!

Joffrey Reynolds is now the third leading rusher in Stamps history, surpassing Lovell Coleman.
I got that from the Stamps Twitter.
