Default Schreiber finally to be extradited.

Could be gone as early as tomorrow.

Auf Wiedersehen!

Quote:
German-Canadian businessman Karlheinz Schreiber lost a last-ditch battle to avoid extradition to Germany on Sunday after a judge dismissed an application for an injunction against the federal government. Schreiber's lawyer, Eddie Greenspan, was granted permission for a special weekend court appearance to argue that his client should be allowed to stay in his adopted country — where he has been a citizen since 1982 — until at least Tuesday morning so he can file an appeal challenging Canada's extradition treaty with Germany.
But the lawyer for the government told the Ontario Court of Appeal that this was a frivolous challenge because the treaty was ratified 30 years ago.
Outside the court, Greenspan said Schreiber was "on his way" to the Toronto West Detention Centre. He arrived at the centre shortly before 5 p.m. ET.
"I expect them [government officials] to act relatively quickly," Greenspan said when asked whether Schreiber would be put on a plane to Germany soon. The Globe and Mail reported that he will be sent to Germany on Monday morning.

I've never even heard of him. But I skimmed the article and it had something to do with tax evasion of millions. Then something about re-election occuring about this time so it'll become a hay day when he goes back.

He's the person that Brian Mulroney was accused of accepting alleged kickbacks/bribes from in return for the sale of Airbus planes to Air Canada.
