Winds collapse main stage ... Edmonton sending rescue team

Edit: According to my sources in EMS Edmonton is sending their mass casualty bus and team ... Wetaskiwin, Guardian Ambulance and other local response teams also responding. Edmonton Fire also responding. Sounds bad.

Edit 2: Not 60 injured ... 60 trapped.

Is this really the time for a joke? Or are you being serious.

Oh ^#$^#$ I totally forgot that it was this weekend.... I was just NW of there taking pics of the storm, now I feel like I should have tried to warn them. However, they should have had ample preperation since there were warnings out.

Hope no more deaths come from it.

I think its a joke from another thread, where Shawnski said they should have a competition for high school students to design a bridge rather than have professionals do it.

Speaking of crazy accidents, winds blew a piece of a building off right in front of the calgary tower which struck some people on the ground. The whole area is closed off, and what I was told was that it's not looking good for those involved.

Nothing you could have done BA I'm sure. Sounds like the storm hit really quickly. If they weren't prepared for this, nothing would have helped.

This is on CNN right now.

On TV.

It was just a two minute segment. They will probably mention it again, they said they were waiting on some pics.

I just got a hold of some family members who are up there - for anyone trying to get in touch, they said there was only one working cell phone tower there and everyone there is trying to use it.

Ya, cell useage out there was horrible.

And to quell a rumor going around, this was NOT a tornado.

You'd have to think with the amount of people now a days that shoot performances from their cell phones, that there will likely be some footage of the collapse.

My goodness. I wonder how much the weather was a factor. I hope there are no more fatalities.

Have a couple buddies and they are fine. Drunk, but safe.

Hopefully there are no more deaths reported and everyone just escapes with minor injuries.
