I like Cohen, but for some reason, I didn't like like the Borat movie all that much. I think he is probably the most talented comedic actor around now though. Hopefully this movie is better than Borat.

It won't be any different. For anyone who has ever watched the Ali G Show, he baiscally has 3 or 4 characters that he uses on a regular basis and just has 4 or 5 skits per episode where he interviews real people and makes them uncomfortable or look like idiots.
It really was a brilliant show but didn't get renewed by HBO IIRC.
I agree, I, like you, am far too intelligent, for such lowbrow hijinx mumbo jumbo such as this. My credulity is not sufficiently enabled for this type of zeitgeist.
I liked his role in Sweeney Todd the best out of anything he's done. I think he's a great actor, but just that the schtick is starting to wear off a little bit. By the time Borat came out, it wasn't cutting edge any more.

I don't think it will be as good as Borat, and of course the Ali G series. Bruno has always been my least favorite, but in the Ali G shows some of the Bruno scenes are hilarious, but not sure it will be that great as a whole film.
This one always made me laugh, the look on the guys face when he says Austrian Gay TV at the end.

on the Ali G. show I found Bruno to be by far the funniest character. The interview where he has the fashion experts define things as either "fabulous" or "holocaust" (something like that) was unreal. Borat was an awesome film so I'm really looking forward to this one. Can't wait!

So I figure this merits a bump since I just got back from the movie--no spoilers though.
Much like Borat, it was totally awful, but I laughed hard and often.
I was worried it would reinforce many sterotypes, and I think the opening part does to an extent. Overall though, it does a good job showing people's true colors when faced with an uncomfortable situation.
A word of warning, this movie is 18A for a reason. Lots of naughty bits of both genders shown, but more male than female (whew).

Borat wasn't awful. It is histarically funny. At least we get female nudity, I couldn't take another scene with Azamat shoving his huge naked ass in someone's face, or Sacha butt-fu**ing some other naked guy.

Just saw it today as well, and I hope you don't find this offensive, but I kind of see you as CP's version of Bruno.
