Default LF Recommendation for installing TV wall mount

I will be moving into a new house at the end of August and I wanted to see if anyone had any good recommendations for companies/people to install two flat panal wall mounts with hiding the wires and all that jazz.

Also, is where is the best place to buy wall mounts? Should I stick to Futureshop/Best Buy/Visions or is there another affordable solution?

TIA

Can't recommend any install places however have you bought the TVs yet? If not buy them with the wall mounts and you can get them for half price off or more.

Otherwises I would look online as Futureshop/Bestbuy charge a fortune.

I own the TV's already however I wasn't really interested in mounting them. Moving into the new house I don't want to attempt to knock holes in the wall myself.

I will check monoprice out though

Looks like I am going to go with Monoprice. Just have to check shipping charges to Canada. Great price for sure!

www.monoprice.com has some of the best prices I have found for wall mounts. Also some good prices on HDMI which Future Shop/Best Buy always rip you on.

Oops, I see it's already been mentioned!

PM'd sparky.

Shipping puts the price a bit higher but I will still be saving a bundle in comparison.

Look to the Apple store in Market Mall for HDMI cords. Best price in town by a mile. Bought my mounts off eBay (Omnimount). They are both have extendable arms that can swivel the TV side to side and outwards. Paid about $125 each with shipping. Holds my 42" and 50" quite nicely.

Here's some advice:

Move your electrical outlet to where you want to TV first. If you "conceal" a power cord in the wall, it is not fire rated and you will null your fire insurance. It's dangerous.

Other than that, make sure- for the love of God- make sure you get the mount on there level.

If you have it professionally installed you don't have to worry about the 2nd part, but I find having the outlet moved up before hand is best because TV installers are not ticketed electricians, and they can't/wont do it.

I agree with using monoprice- just read their reviews.

What I did for mine was the following:
- ran electrical up from the basement making it ground fault (it's in the bathroom.) I cut a hole in the wall of the closet behind where the TV was going.
- determined the placement of the TV and cut a rectangular hole smaller than the inside of my mount.
- Placed a couple of 2x6s in the wall and attached them using drywall screws. Now the mount has the added strength of going into wood.
- Then placed the mount on the wall. As mentioned, get it level, and check it again.
