They're looking ok so far against Jamaica!

A chippy first half. Canada should be able to take this game.

Canada looks timid now, can't get into the Jamaican zone

WOO!! A magnificant goal by Gerba! Beautiful cross and a volley into the corner.

Always good to start with a win. McKenna is a great player...all over the place and outstanding defensive coverage. He always seems to be in the right place.

Yup pretty much ensures a trip to the quarters. Next goal will be to try and win the group

Man did Mckenna and Jakovic play good in the centre of the d for us tonight.. I didn't think the team as a whole played particularly great but we made the most of our chances and for the first game that's great. Sutton really ripped it up too.. overall good game and I can't wait for the second one against El Salvador, I've got a good feeling we can go far in this tourney...

odd game, some solid possession from both sides and some really scrappy bits here and there. They played fairly well, created chances, were solid in defense, and finished one of their several chances. If Jamaica had a lesser keeper it would've been 2-0 or 3-0. That finish by Gerba was really excellent, much harder than it initially looked based on the replay. Can't wait to see Ali G play for Toronto.

Canada leads 1-0 at halftime against El Salvador, off a nice touch by Gerba.

Sutton coming out needlessly scared the bejeezus out of me.

We're playing so much better than in the Jamaica game so far, a ton of possession, just a couple slip ups at the back that've been a bit worrysome.. also we need to turn that possession into chances.. but I can't think of a single Canadian player that's not looking good out there tonight.

Everytime I've seen Sutton in the last couple of years he scares me. Brain farts on a regular basis. But they did look much better this game. Good midfield play and worked the ball well on both wings. Gerba with some good ball control and distribution. I sure can see a Sutton blunder costing them a game though!!!

Sutton sucks again as they go to halftime tied 2-2 against Costa Rica. Still tied with 20 minutes to go as they have settled down for the 2nd half.

What was that??? I switch to football/baseball for 10 minutes and the game's 1-1 after
a very quiet start. Then I watch both teams score once in the next 10 minutes.

Sutton does suck. Heard the first one was weak.

It was but they were into the quarters anyway and the tie means they finish first in their group. Is there a young goalie on the horizon? Sutton should be put out to pasture.
