Tim Horton's

So all the talk in the drive-thru thread got me thinking...what is it about Timmys that makes it so goddamn addicting? Any time I'm in town, a large double double must be purchased. But it's the only place I'll get coffee with anything in it.

So I as you good CP...what is it? Is it blow? Is it ground up hookers? What is it?

It goes really well with my morning smoke.... so does Bailey's... but the cops sort of frown on that in a to go cup.

I hate coffee and Tim Horton's donuts are fattening and I think all of you should stop supporting this horrible business that feeds our consumerist addictions...

Tim's is crap. I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer any of the following coffee shops over Tim's

Freshly ground and brewed at home!
Second Cup
Starbucks
Timothy's
Caffe Artigiano

I don't know why I almost exclusively purchase my "on the go" coffee at TH. But I do know that on the rare occasion that I buy it elsewhere it feels weird to have a foreign cup in my hand/cup holder.

I drink my coffee black and I can't stand Tim Hortons. It always tastes burnt to me, and that's not just at one location, it's at all. I really, really don't understand the love for Tim's coffee.

No wonder people drop heavy cream and load it up with sugar until it tastes like pancake batter.

Tims was the first to do 2 things:

1) Use full-fat cream in their coffee.
2) Control how much cream goes in.

You get way more cream in a Tims than you do anywhere else, probably including home. There are 280 calories and 14g of fat in an XL double double. You'd have to add almost 2/3 of a cup of half and half to your coffee at home to get the same effect.

Yeah, I don't really like Tim Horton's either. I don't like donuts and their coffee sucks if you like to drink black coffee. There is nothing special about their soups and sandwiches, and the atmosphere sucks (dull and always crowded). I always see really ugly people there too.

I've gotta agree with that. Home-made is miles better, but Tims is the driving coffee of choice. Anything else just feels wrong.
Starbucks, as far as I'm concerned, sucks. Every time I've had it, the coffee tastes like tar. It's brutal.

I buy fresh roasted beans, grind only what I need, and make a delicious latte and is miles above any crap at starbucks. I don't even need put any sugar in my espressos.....But that takes time I only have in the evenings and weekends.

Every weekday I have a doubledouble with my breakfast. I think Im going to try and cut down to a single single, jesus-dickballs thats a lot calories in a 2x2x

I've only ever bought 1 coffee from Tim Horton's.

I am, however, absolutely addicted to their Turkey Bacon Club Sandwich (no honey mustard) with a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup.

I agree there are a large number of places out their with better much better coffee than Tim Horton's but I will go on record as saying that Starbucks has the absolute worst drip coffee of any major chain. It is complete garbage as are their lattes and espresso, but speaking in terms of just their coffee, it is dreadful, just bad.

I like Tim Horton's, it's certainly not the best and I don't get it everyday. I normally make my own coffee, but I do enjoy the odd large regular every now and again.

Tim's is decent and priced the way coffee should be, and trust me, coffee is important to me. As for the other holier than thou coffee stands where hippies cruise in to write their scripts with their Apple computers over a venti mocha grande frappa-whatever the hell... they can screw right off because $5 for coffee is like asking somebody to punch you in the face. Naturally, as a landman, sometimes I'm forced to meet people at said establishments and my completely off-the-charts addiction to coffee takes over my extreme hatred for all things priced >$2.

But the absolute worst coffee establishment, that I go to almost daily due to laziness and proximity, is Timothy's. Not Timmy's, but Timothy's. Man, all of their coffee's are just awful.

I think price is a big reason. I drive by the one in town here every day and usually stop in to buy a coffee once or twice a week. I like a half coffee, half hot chocolate as it's the right balance of caffeine and diabetes for me. At Tims I can buy two extra larges for the price of a small mocha at a fancy coffee shop and don't have to worry about the whipped cream. I'm doing a good job keeping myself fat enough without that stuff.

Personally, I'll pay more for a coffee if I don't have to wait in a Tim Horton's line-up for one. Ten minutes in the morning is definitely worth an extra dollar for me. The lines are such a buzz kill there.

You're just not maximizing your time. If you're in a standing line, check your email on your crackberry and text your old lady to tell her that she's hot. If you're in the DT line, time it so that you can catch the six minute news update on QR and then text your old lady to tell her that she's hot.
And if you don't care about news, emails, or your old lady, just spend the 10 minutes ogling skirts and trying to figure out what drug the bum outside is addicted to.
