This all makes a difference because I need to know how much is going to eventually go into inevitably useless mutual fund that seems like the best idea and will do fata all for the next 18 years. Ya thats a shot at you slava for all you financial planners and your crap.
Phone calls to calforex seem like they don;t give a fata.

ATTENTION: THE PRESIDENT/CEO
DEAR SIR,
CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS PROPOSAL
HAVING CONSULTED WITH MY COLLEAGUES AND BASED ON THE INFORMATION GATHERED FROM THE NIGERIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY, I HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO REQUEST FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE TO TRANSFER THE SUM OF $47,500,000.00 (FORTY SEVEN MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND UNITED STATES DOLLARS) INTO YOUR ACCOUNTS. WE ARE NOW READY TO TRANSFER THE FUND OVERSEAS AND THAT IS WHERE YOU COME IN. IT IS IMPORTANT TO INFORM YOU THAT AS CIVIL SERVANTS, WE ARE FORBIDDEN TO OPERATE A FOREIGN ACCOUNT; THAT IS WHY WE REQUIRE YOUR ASSISTANCE. THE TOTAL SUM WILL BE SHARED AS FOLLOWS: 70% FOR US, 25% FOR YOU AND 5% FOR LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL EXPENSES INCIDENT TO THE TRANSFER.
THE TRANSFER IS RISK FREE ON BOTH SIDES. I AM AN ACCOUNTANT WITH THE NIGERIAN NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION (NNPC). IF YOU FIND THIS PROPOSAL ACCEPTABLE, WE SHALL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

I have a US account at BMO and then transfer from account to account and they do give me a better rate than calforex and even buying/selling american cash at the bank. Can't remember the exact savings, but it is substantial. I even got a US credit card to pay for my GF's masters program (american UNI) and that saved us money in regards to fees and other stuff, I would just transfer canadian funds to the american account myslef and it was cheaper...Check it out if you have time, I am sure a banker can confirm this, as i am not a banker.

Albern Coins on Centre St and just off 16th ave N. But, don't quote me. I know they exchange foreign currency, and at a decent rate, however, i have no idea if they cash checks. I'd call first.
I've only ever used them to convert left over pounds and euros cash for cash...and they do take coins. Not that that is relevant to you right now.
I'd call them anyway and ask.

We use XE.com with no problems and it lets you lock into a rate.
DO NOT get it wire transferred from bank to bank.

Yeah, definitely, a couple weeks ago it was around 92 cents, and I remember last week it was down at 86 already (right now it's around 88). That can make a pretty huge difference if you're talking about bigger money.
Oh and let me know when you find out your best options, Fotze. Definitely good to know that sort of stuff.
