Default Americans ripping off The Dragons Den

So I just saw a preview for "The Shark Tank" which is a direct rip off of the Dragon's Den (even features two of the Canadian Dragons). Did CBC sell them the rights to produce this or something? I'm kind of looking forward to it because I love the Dragon's Den.

a quick google shows it originated in japan
Japan was the original, the Britts ran with it, than we ripped it off from them. The Americans are next on board.

Kevin from that show will be a hit down South.

I believe its just a franchising matter. Its not as though the originators of the idea havent consented and arent getting paid...

It's pretty common. Lots of shows have done it. It happened with Kenny vs. Spenny, Jackass etc.

I'm sorry, I can't wait for this show.

I LOVE Dragon's Den. As long as they run at alternate times, I'm all for it

The first Thanksgiving celebration by Euro-peoples in North America was not in New England but in Newfoundland by Martin Frobisher, 42 years before the Pilgrims.
