2009 Wimbledon
Wimbledon starts on Sunday.
Roger Federer is looking for his 15th career Grand Slam title which would be a new record (currently tied with Sampras at 14).
The big news is that Nadal has withdrew today due to knee issues.
Federer's draw looks pretty good.

How sick would Murray vs Roddick and Federer vs Djokovic Semi-Finals be?
Looking forward to it.

Sucks about Nadal though.

I think that Murray can get knocked out by a lot of people in the earlier rounds. His draw isn't tough, but it seems like there's some matchup issues with players like Dent (huge S&V'er), Gonzalez (huge hitter), and Wawrinka.
I still think the pressure is going to get to him and he'll flame out.
It really sucks about Nadal, he's always a joy to watch. Either way, I am picking Federer for the win!

After that condescending temper tantrum at the French I hope Roddick never makes it out of the first round for the rest of his career.
(I know it won't happen, he is just such a dick and for no good reason!)

Out of the 4 he mentioned, Roddick wouldn't be the biggest baby. That honor would go to Djokovic. Him and his family are classless. I remember the final against Tsonga where he complained like a baby and the whole crowd boo'ed him. He's done it multiple times in his career. His family complains to the umpire from their seats, he always mocks the umpire and in general is a poor sport. Not to mention how many times he has to bounce the damn ball before he serves. He's my most hated player on the tour. It's a shame Nadal is out. I wanted a rematch of last year. I hope Federer wins Wimbledon and Nadal is healthy and wins the US Open. If Nadal were to win that, he'd also have a career slam as he has won the other 3 major's.

Wow, consecutive first round exists (french and wimbledon). Looks like he's almost done.
Ivanovic in trouble again.. lost first set.
For football fans: Suzy Kolber is hosting the Wimbledon coverage, sounds weird.

Nevermind James Blake being upset. Be a whole lot of male viewers very upset if Ana makes an early exit.

Ana served for the match at 5-4 and choked (broken at love) then serving at 5-6 saved two match points...6-6 now. This could take awhile.
Edit: I know when I said it would take awhile that it would end in 5 minutes. Ana wins 8-6 in the 3rd.
Her game is terrible right now though, alot of errors and the serve is terrible.

I'm very amused at James Blake. Always hated his game and his fans. Glad to see him out.
Ivanovic too. Too much hype, not enough game to back it up. She got lucky with a netcord which reminded me of wimbledon last year and we saw how that went.

The netcord at Wimbledon is ridiculous. It's too loose and every shot dribbles over. Makes for too many cheap points.

The real reason I watch tennis, Ana Ivanovic, almost got upset in the first round but stuck it out.

I watched the first set of Hewitt/Del Potro this morning before leaving for work. Who the heck was that guy impersonating Hewitt? Good grief he was serving aces and whacking the snot out of the ball. Heck anytime I've seen him play anybody with a smidgeon of talent he has lost(at least in recent history). He was nailing down the line backhands and firing huge forehands. Whatever juice he is on he should keep on drinking it down!!!!

The form that Murray is in is insane. Something like 75% first serve pct. His defence is crazy too.
I don't see anyone aside from Federer who can stop him. Federer wouldn't be a lock either as everyone knows that he has trouble against defence first players like Murray and Nadal (and Djokovic to an extent).

He just won in straight sets.
I see a Murray-Federer final as well. They are definitely the 2 best players who are playing real well right now. Other guys will pose a small threat like Djokovic but nothing spectacular.
