Icon33 Habs Announce new Head Coach

Bob Gainey has officially been released of his from the Montreal Canadiens. After a less than stellar season which saw Montreal finish 7th last in the league, coaching changes were imminent. Last season was following a disappointing early exit from the playoffs after leading the Conference.

Rumour has it a deal is being worked out with a new coach as we speak, but terms are still TBD. Stay tuned.

The Montreal Canadiens are pleased to announce that an agreement has been met with Claude Julien to be the new Head Coach.

We feel Julien has a great ability to coach young stars and provides a good balance of strong team defence with creative offense. We are excited to have a coach of his ability join the Canadiens.
