WW2 Buffs
I just saw a video on cnn.com.. Life magazine apparently purchased around 2,000 photographs from Hitlers photographer many years ago. Life magazine hadn't published most of them in fear of being accused of glorifying Hitler and the Nazi's, but have now decided to publish them, so it will be an interesting issue to look forward to. They say it is an amazing depiction of that era.

That will be something to look at. I say this as I'm cooking a Pizza and watching the longest day on the History channel. One of the best epic war movies ever made.

I found alot of pics on www.life.com
They are quite chilling in color, makes it all more real. Search around the site, I found a bunch of pics of Hitlers apartment.

It's amazing the amount of times I've watched Band of Brothers, and still get such a thrill when watching it, on top of being shocked, saddened, and amazed. Such a great miniseries, and unlike a movie, I usually forget what happens when I'm watching it.
I've been watching it all afternoon on the History channel.

Yeah, I bought the series on DVD, watched it twice, then bought the Blu-Ray one and have watched it twice, and started on my 3rd go around last week.
Best cinema experience ever.

With the Hitler photographs, the oddest thing is that he didn't look like a monster like we all know he is. He just looks like an average man, that is quite possibly the scariest bit about the entire photo album, it looked like the photos of any political leader at the time.

Yeah, its scary to think that although the holocaust was an unparalleled horror, there are plenty of examples of 'leaders' rallying people into a genocidal froth...so Hitler (as a man) may be more average/common than we would like to think.
All the more reason to remember what happened and to encourage diversity and non-conformity. Eric Fromm's Escape From Freedom is an interesting read.
