Denver, CO - Colorado Avalanche General Manager Patrick Faith announced today the acquisition of Alexander Frolov. "We are very excited to bring in a guy with his skill and speed" said Faith. Going to San Jose is Drew Stafford, Brad Marchand, and Joe Finley. Drew Stafford was slotted into our top RW spot but we feel Alex will bring a different style of game then Drew". "We are very sad to see Brad and Joe leave the organization, we had very high hopes for them but we needed to give them up to recieve a quality player in Alex". Marchand had a great rookie year in the AHL and Finley just signed his entry level deal with the caps. Finley was a 1st round pick in 2005 for the caps so there is a lot of potential there. He is also 6'7 230+ lbs so you can never go wrong with a D man of that size.
The top line is now set in Colorado:
Huselius - Gagne - Frolov
"I spoke with Gagne and Juice on the phone and I am very excited to be a part of this organization." said Frolov. "It was a tough season in San Jose, we had all the pieces but we didnt come through, I want to come through in Colorado".
Asked about any more possible changes coming to the organizaiton GM Faith responded: "To be quite honest there will always be changes".
