Where is a good place to buy golf gear? I need to pick up a driver for this season and need some advice on a good place to go. I've been to Nevada Bob's and Golf Town and they are pretty comparable but is there any other place to see? Maybe a wholesaler?

Also, any recommendations on a good driver? I was looking at Callaway Big Bertha "Diablo's" and they swing pretty good and for an extra buck you get a diablo fairway wood. The Nike SQ sumo's are on pretty cheap right now too. Any other good deals? Looking for something in the $150-$300 range and for an intermediate type skill level (more like a weekend warrior).

I usually go to golf town. I use a TaylorMade and I love it. My fairways are callaways and those are good too. My next driver will probably be a taylor though.

try your local golf club, i like the ping G10 and the callaway FTI, the callaway is very forgiving and is great for accuracy

my experience at golf courses is you are going to pay way more than at a store. They just dont have the buying power.

A Burner? The 2007's are on for pretty cheap right now. What are they like to hit? I wanted to go Diablo because I read that they have a pretty good sized sweet spot.

You can't really go wrong with the TM Burner. I bought the 10.5 degree with a stiff shaft last summer and I am hitting it further and straighter than ever. I am about a ten handicap, but my friend who is about a 30 handicap has recently started hitting it and is loving it as well.

if you are going to nevada bobs then go down to the one by Ikea. They're having a clearance sale. I picked up a new driver and golf bag for the season. If you are looking for top end stuff then you might only save 10% but for extremely casual golfers like myself (out 3X in the past 2 years), I got the driver for 80 normally 130 and most of the bags are 30-40% off.

Yeah, the whole running part is the kicker.

Thanks for the Nevada bobs tip, I'll have to stop by there at lunch tomorrow and see what they have.
