Campgrounds ~2hr from Cgy that support alcoholism??
I think I was drinking a 40oz of Olde English and listening to my buddy's Snoop Dogg tape the last time I got kicked out of a campground for drinking and carrying on, but most of my May Long camping crew is convinced that almost all campgrounds employ "Fun Gestapo" that shut you down after dark regardless of noise level.
I'd love to hear some campground recommendations within about 2hrs of Calgary that in your experience probably wouldn't mind a group of 10 (late twenty-ish) people having some drinks and staying up.
ETA: We always request a spot as secluded as possible so as not to disturb families with kids or anyone else who wants a quiet weekend of camping. I'm sure most campgrounds would be fine with us but I'll be tossed into the campfire if I'm responsible for setting us up in a very family-oriented campground.

you have the right to drink there as you paid for the spot. It is like paying rent at home and drinking there. But you do have to respect the people next to you if you are being rowdy.

Pretty sure they can ban open alcohol in a campground...

way to many idiots have ruined it for the rest of us, personally I blame to idiotic quaders out there. NOT the responsible ones, but the popularity of quads has brought out the tools who wreck everything for everyone else.......well done ######s!!

They? If you purchase rented out space you have an argument. Ban as much as you like. The argument is there. Receive your "fine" and deal with it then.

Yeah, quads = ######. Right.
It would seem to me that a ###### is a ###### regardless of wether they drive a quad or not.
Camping is more popular than quads.
Alcohol is more popular than camping.
But, to continue the theme of asinine comments, I blame Asian Resturants, Mexicans, and GM.

ok bud, watch the news on monday night or tuesday night. see what they are talking about......the quaders in Maclean creak, Indian Graves etc etc. about them wrecking trails, tearing down fences, leaving garbage etc etc.
do you think they do this sober?? my guess is drugs are mixed in aswell, but they are already illegal so no need to ban. i have friends who have quaded for years and have never seen it this bad.
im not saying all quaders are ######s, just that some ######s now own quads. and they have ruined camping in general, especially on crown land.

If you can not do something peacefully do not do it at all.
Like when Locke yelled "Surprise!" that one time. A warning is ... Peaceful.

Id say go to McClean creek or Waiprous. I've got a site in one of the campgrounds in Peter Laugheed, but thats more of a woodsy camping area. Most people (me included) go there to get away from noise. Nothing worse than a loud group of ######s keeping you up at night.
When I want to go out with my buddies and get faced while camping, we go to crown land somewhere in K-country, last thing I want is other campers ruining our gong show. Out there you can be as loud as you want. The bears only complain if you play Techno

Do you like to get your ghetto on in the great outdoors often?
Sheesh. Snoop is one thing (not my bag, but I get it) but the 'Foty' of English just screams poser.
Why do you guys need a campground? Is it illegal to camp in an undesignated area in Canada or something?

In an incoherent way you are right he did say that. Then he proceeded to clarify. Way to go! You could work for fox news with editing like that.

The way it was worded made it seem like being a quad owner was a prerequisite for being an idiot. Which is not the case at all. I have seen way more douchbags who go out to maclean creek and try to offroad in their parents minivan that ATV owner who destroy stuff. That is why I go further away than Maclean creek when I camp. That is a great site in Waiporus (sp??) that we go to that is awesome. Free firewood too.

We talked in ebonics and made "W"s with our hands too.
Relax, guy. It was a joke intended to illustrate how long it's been since I had any problem in a campground.
15-year-old MickMcGeough would bust a cap in yo ass for calling him a poser, though.

We've done that in years past, but conservation officers have quads and bikes and will tell you to GTFO.
And why is it that people insist, ever year, on bringing an old beater and lighting it on fire?
