Everyone has trouble concentrating during lectures. It's not ADD. Coffee is good enough. Studying all night isn't necessary anyway. Sleep will let you do better.

I've heard stories of people taking it for a prolonged period of time and then finding that they were basically useless without it afterward. Probably best to just develop proper study habits instead of resorting to drugs. I remember taking Dexedrine, which is probably similar to Adderall,in high school to study and all it did was make my thoughts race. Unless you're told to take it by a doctor stay away.

You're probably not ADD. You just need to get better sleep, eat better (especially breakfast) and excersize a bit. You'll be fine. And if all else fails; try meth. That stuff'll keep you up for days, and your house will never be cleaner!

First thought of Annie Adderall from Community. Secondly, never a great idea to abuse prescription meds.

Go get tested and then speak with your Dr. about the medication. I'm on Vyvanse and that stuff works great.

Having dependencies on prescription drugs because you can't focus is never a good thing. Instead of blaming your head, blame your surroundings.

Don't listen to the naysayers. It makes you super human. Do you want to be "normal" like all of these people or do you want to be better?
Be better.

I haven't been on two plus two for a while, but I know adderall was popular with poker players...allowed them to ten table for endless hours.
I've never taken it, but by all accounts is works very well. It's all about the side effects of course, though.

Works well for those who need it, poorly for those who don't. As for the poster about Dexedrine, yes it is very similar, just with a better time/dose profile. Stimulants do help some people concentrate, but can commonly cause insomnia and emotional lability when dose wears off. Due to having dose "holidays" diminishes any chance of withdrawls significantly

Change your brain and change your life. Go see a doc who will refer you to a psychiatrist.

Bah, everyone uses it in university these days.
We all have ADD. We used to just have to deal with it, and concentrate. Now, there are pills for it.
If you get it legitimately through a psychiatrist, do not take the daily dosage. Just use it for studying now and again. Prolonged (like months of use) use will slowly start screwing with your brain chemistry.
I know this is a generalization, I know there are kids with REAL ADD that these drugs do wonders for. Basically, from what I gather, dexedrine/etc allows ADD kids to focus, almost calms them down. For normal people it speeds them up, but also allows them to focus.
