Well, I can only talk about the functionality of the phone, since I'm not a developer or anything like that. What would you like to know?
Few things I can comment on:
The android operating system is actually quite easy to use. The hardware engine is fast and responsive for the HTCs. The touch isn't as responsive as the iphone, but comes very very close. The Magic doesn't come with qwerty, but the Dream does and it's not bad. Both have trackballs, but I find myself rarely using it, much prefer the touch screen.
And yes, internet access is easy as pie (make sure you have unlimited data). I would say the browser is as robust as the browsers we've been used to (IE and Firefox).
All in all great devices. I usually don't like HTCs...but these ones are actually quite nice to use.
Only one negative, battery life is brutal. You can drain all your battery in 2 or 3 hours of you are playing with the phone a lot...and I'm not even talking about accessing media.
