Creator Mitch Hurwitz came up with the idea after watching the original Australian version of the show in 2000.[2] Originally, he had planned the series to be live-action. However, after his attempts at selling the planned series failed, Hurwitz changed the mode to animation.[2] The series was originally titled Class Dismissed.[3] It was picked up by Fox in May 2008... It debuted on April 19, 2009 at 8:30 PM.

Cast Highlights:
Will Arnett as Ennis Hofftard, a bodybuilder who teaches English and always attempts to chase women.

Jason Bateman as Larry Littlejunk, the gym teacher and only staff member that can teach.

Will Forte as Assistant Principal and former prison clown Stuart Proszakian.

Henry Winkler as Willard Deutschebog, a suicidal German teacher whose last name is a play on "###### bag."

Anyone catch this show? 2 episodes have ran, and I loved it. Reviews aren't to hot though, AD fans lets keep this one going!

I was hoping it would be good. It's just not. Inconsistently funny.

I for one just never "got" Arrested Development. Its just not that funny.

I think you need some help if you think it's not funny. Although I'm not sure if you should see an analyst or a therapist. Probably best to see someone who's both an analyst and a therapist.

You've made a blanket statement! I'm sorry to inform you you've made a terrible mistake ...

I loved Arrested Development and I found the pilot to be very funny. The "If I believed in reincarnation I'd kill myself tonight!" line had me in tears.

I missed the second episode, I'll have to find it online somewhere.

The pilot started off weak, but I gave it a chance and it got better. Last weeks was pretty funny. I will continue to give this show a shot. And the AD haters, give your heads a shake.

I just watched the pilot and am currently watching the second episode and it's made me laugh out loud a couple of times.
