Default Best Mobile Phone Company?

I am trying to figure out what Mobile phone company I want to use. Right now I may stick to pay-as-you-go, but with Telus, it's a pain in the ass switching numbers when you move provinces. I've used Virgin Mobile and Telus, and there wasn't much difference between cell phone provideers. I think I may have preferred Teuls a little better. Anyone here use koodo? I was checking out their rates, and they seem very reasonable.

I use Koodo. Love it. The only thing that I don't like is the limited phone selection. I've played around with my plan until I found something that I like.

Service and all that is great. Plus, you can walk away from it without breaking a contract if you want.

I just signed up with Verizon. I'm in the States a lot and they have better packages for North American minutes than any Canadian company.

Default Cell Info- Phones and Providers

I am in the market for a new cell phone and I would like to know what others experiences are with cell makes (and models) and local (Calgary) providers.

Info on Iphone vs. Blackberry, provider coverage, rates, bad service, good service, why you went with your particular provider or anything else you think is relevant.

I am with Bell atm, and dont' really have any real complaints aside from getting the shaft with some of the new Blackberries and Iphone.

This has probably been posted somewhere but I would like some up to date info.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm with Bell right now but that's because I'm on a corporate plan. I was with telus the past few years... but their interface drove me insane. Pretty darn annoying if you get a phone with them since their T9 system is pretty garbage. But if you get a data phone I don't think it's their interface.

Rogers/Fido are a little more expensive IMO since they have some exclusive iPhones and what not. More people are going over there so bell/telus are dropping their rates I'm finding.

Went with Telus myself. Only thing I can say that drew me there was the data plan, seems like Telus had the best at the time. Have unlimited data for $15/mnth is pretty nice.

I've never really had any problems with Telus, I know there are many that hate them but I have had no problems. Mind you, I haven't really had to contact them for anything so that probably helps.

Only reason I would switch providers right now is for the iPhone. I think Telus is in the process of upgrading their network to GSM in preperation for the Olympics so if that's the case, maybe we could see the iPhone with them sometime soon?

Like I said, only reason I would switch is for the iPhone. That being said, HTC and BB are decent options as well and with my data plan, might be a reason for me to stay put.

I'm with Rogers but I feel all three of the major companies bone you. I look forward to the day real competition breeds better service.

If you want pay as you go, 7-11 Speakout. The minutes don't expire for an entire year and there is no requirements to buy minutes every month. Plus they use SIM cards so you can toss it in your favourite phone.
