Default Known Gang Member Back in Police Custody

http://www.canada.com/calgaryherald/...3-07ff18a5a6ea

Calgary police have arrested a known gang member - released just last week after being slated for deportation four years ago - after he violated terms of his release.

Tran Trong Nghi Nguyen - known as Jackie Tran - was arrested Saturday morning after a disturbance at a northwest Calgary bar Saturday night, where two people were injured.

So uh... how in the world has he been able to roam around the city for the last four years when he was supposed to deported four years ago???!

Police have arrested a man they say is a known gang member.
Jackie Tran was arrested at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at a home in McKenzie Towne.
Police say he was arrested on an immigration warrant for breaching conditions of his release.
Tran was supposed to be living with his mother and sister but police learned the mother moved out of the home recently.
Tran will be turned over to Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for a detention hearing that will happen within the next two days.
Tran is no stranger to the CBSA.
The agency has been trying to deport him since 2004 when he was convicted of drug trafficking.
Tran appealed that order and is still waiting for a decision from the Immigration and Refugee board.
In the meantime, the CBSA attempted to deport Tran on organized crime grounds.
The second charge gives the CBSA something to fall back on if the appeal on the first charge is successful.
