My dad is from Croatia. My maternal grandfather was from Poland, and maternal grandmother was from Ukraine.
That makes me your average garlic snapping honkey I guess.

white, white and more white...your typical scottish/english background. Something stupid like 6th Gen Canadian on both sides.
Interesting calf lineage fact: my great great (great maybe?) grandpa on mom's side has both a town in Saskatchewan and a Mountain named after him because he was instrumental somehow with the railway.
I think on my dad's side there's a street named after one of them in Guelph, Ont.

Great family story here. Apparently my ancestor had been working for the royal family, butler seems the most agreed upon job... anyways, he had an affair with one of the King's daughters and was banished to Canada.

Half East Indian (family is from Gujurat province in India)
Half Chinese (family is from Malaysia)
Born in Zaire (no longer exists), grew up in Kenya (lived with lions), moved to England (culture shock), then Scotland (so laid back), showed up in Calgary with a Scottish accent (weird) and now call this wonderful city home.

Man, you must eat a lot of sausages and cabbage rolls mmmm.
That's the cool thing.

Oh hell yeah... We usually had a deep freezer full of cabbage rolls - you know, in case a world war, famine, or mongol/turkish hoardes invaded.

family name is Scottish, pretty much Anglo-saxon to a tee. Tall extremely skinny white guy, blonde hair, blue eyes, and will go to the end of the earth for a friend.
Plus I like to drink... infact I'm drunk right now...

There is a tartan with my last name attached to it but on mommy's side I had Swedish Lutheran great-grandparents that were a little scandalized by their son marrying one of the Kaiser's frauleins.
Honk! Honk!

That's pretty interesting.
What's the story? I mean, to move around through such varied and interesting places. I wouldn't think that Zaire or Kenya were popular countries to immigrate to from India or Malaysia, and then to end up in Scotland, and then Canada. There must be an interesting story in there somewhere.

Well here's how it began. My dad's East Indian side of the family moved to Kenya from India, common thing at the time with both countries in the British Commonwealth. My dad went to England for university where he met my mom who was also there for schooling and had just arrived from Malaysia.
Got married etc..., then decided to move to Zaire to start up a business which is where I enter the picture hehe. Since Zaire was a pretty unstable country I spent most of my time raised in Kenya by my grandparents. Skip to the early 90s and Zaire implodes in civil war and things get very dangerous. My parents barely made it out alive, they were saved just in time by a Red Cross worker while a mob was after them. They really did lose everything, house, business, EVERYTHING, but at least they had the prudence to save money in a foreign account! So thanks to the Belgian Army they make it back to Kenya where we all pick up and head off to England to wait for our Canadian visas.
Stayed there for awhile and then moved on to live with family in Scotland. Finally getting our visas to come here was a pretty big thing, makes you really appreciate this great country.
And to answer fotze, sadly the Scottish accent is gone, I've been Canadianized hehe! And I look Phillipino I guess, lots of this type of mix there.
Hope you all don't mind the life story

British, Scottish, Irish, a bit of Welsh, and a wee bit of French.
I have the Irish temper, the Scotting head (large and a red head), and i used to have the British teeth. I guess I am a canucks fan so it is like i am a sheep ######er or kissing your sister (welsh). And I am getting better at running so French is there too...
