Default Do Nice Guys finish last?

ok...so keeping on my philosophical bent...

Do Nice guys really finish last?

Are you a nice guy and find that you are always being dumped or repalced by that muscle shirt wearing, beer drinking, cigarette smoking plumber?

CP Girls? Where do you weigh in?
Do you LOVE that dark guy...the one with a bit of an edge...
or the nice nerd that you know you will find at the keyboard...posting on CalgaryPuck?

You hear it all the time: "He was such a NICE Guy, and she's such a Heartless Bitch for dumping him."
I get letters from self-professed Nice Guys, complaining that women must WANT to be treated like , because THEY, the "Nice Guy" have failed repeatedly in relationships. This is akin to the false logic that "Whales are mammals. Whales live in the sea. Therefore, all mammals live in the sea."
If you have one bad relationship after another, the only common denominator is YOU. Think about it.

Women are alot like men, and they like a challenge. Even if a woman tells you she wants a 'nice guy', what she really wants is a bad guy that she can make into a nice guy.

I used to think that. But really, I think it depends on the girl. And what both potential partners are looking for in a relationship.

The only thing a nice guy needs to do is be a bit more assertive in the bedroom..... Problem solved.

You can be nice, just have your own opinions and don't be a pushover. Unless we're talking puppies, nobody likes a weakling.

Having said that, I go out of my way to not work/associate with dickheads.

Since when does being a nice guy = door mat, or being a push over. I would say over all I'm a 'nice guy' but stand up for myself and don't let a girl friend walk all over me.

in general I would say yes. I think women like a man that they consider "dangerous". Nice but with a bit of an edge!

Why are we painting both sexes with broad strokes?

I've been told a number of things by my friends......

- I'm the man with the gentle soul.

- Have a heart that extends for miles.

- A very kind, thoughtful and generous person.

The qualities i have are clearly not wanted by the female gender

Sooooooo yes nice guys do finish last.

Most of the guys who are called "nice" are just cowardly. They are inherently dishonest to themselves and to the women they try to date. They hide their attraction and their desire to have sex with them and let it build to a point until they finally tell them in this big, dramatic show. Then they complain when it overwhelms the women and chases them away.

This comes from a reforming, sometimes regressing "nice" guy, with a bunch of friends that don't understand why girls keep on running. Our biggest problem is we are full of ****.

were making the same point
you say stand up for yourself and dont let your girlfriend walk all over you, and I say be a nice guy but push back/assert yourself every once in a while.
If youre a nice guy to the extent where you just go along with everything she wants and dont have an opinion of your own is where you become a door mat. But no, being a nice guy doesnt automatically make you a door mat, I guess I wasnt clear enough in my assertion

Im with Glen Foster (that canadian guy) on this..."trying to get the bad boy thing down, because women are attracted to the bad boy...well women might be attracted to the bad boy initially, but they dont stay with the bad boy....so, theres a double benefit"
