Cars: 15 - Cyclists: 0
http://www.timescolonist.com/Sports/...267/story.html
Quote:
Police investigating a weekend incident in North Saanich where about 15 bicyclists were knocked over by a passing car hit by another vehicle say all parties were in the wrong and no charges will be laid.
The cyclists violated the Motor Vehicle Act by riding side by side instead of single file, say Sidney-North Saanich RCMP.

I don't mind cyclists when they behave like cyclists, but I can't stand them when they behave like vehicles or jackasses.
EDIT: Both drivers were also morons.

I've seen this almost happen on lower springbank road plenty of times. Its dangerous when they ride two or three wide. I've almost clipped vehicles coming head on when giving them enough space to pass safely.

A cyclist on the road is the same thing as a car. They are a vehicle.
With that comes the same responsibilities as a driver of a car for the cyclist, but also drivers need to treat cyclists as a car. You want to pass me, signal and pass me. Don't scream at me and honk your horn telling me to GTF off the road.

Bicycles are vehicles. Get used to it.
Olympic Triathlete Simon Whitfield was at the front of the pack and was not hit. Pretty dumb to be pack riding on a narrow road.

Not to mention extremely rude.
I ride out on the highway a fair bit - including an epic and scary foray through the snowsheds of the Rogers Pass one time - and understand my place as a very vulnerable, expendable, lower form of life.
If I want to guarantee my hide, I should be riding on the right side of the little white line.
When I'm driving, side-by-siders tick me off because they're trying to turn me into an accidental murderer.

Yeah, those are pretty big bonus points.
But the biggest one is the rare ones, you know, annoying celeb on a bike is worth 100's of points.

The problem is that so many cyclists pick and choose when they are going to follow the rules of the road. During High School I took the same route to school everyday, and there were a lot of cyclists, which was a bit of a pain because there was only one lane, but it wasn't a big deal. The problem I had that was after finally passing a cyclist I would pull up to a traffic light, and the cyclist would ride down the shoulder past all of the cars. Then everyone would spend the next 5 minutes trying to pass him again only to have the entire process repeat at the next set of lights.

Like Lance Armstrong.
He'd be hard to hit as a biking/crimestopping superhero, but at the same time all points have to be divided by the victim's number of balls, this makes him the highest single point earner.

Indeed!
As a full-time pedestrian, my two biggest peeves are:
A) drivers who think that red lights have a 3-second grace period
B) cyclists who think the sidewalk is a bike path
I can't even begin to count the number of times I've nearly been run into while on a sidewalk by some jackass on a bike whizzing past me. A bicycle is a vehicle -- use the road with the other vehicles.

I'd walk around with a stick and jam it in their spokes as they wizz by.

The fact you put "probably" just shows you don't know us very well
