Default Phone harassment - help?

ok here's the issue : some a-hole from Colorado (googled up the area code) keeps calling me (5x's on Friday, 21x's on Saturday, twice today) and I have no idea who he is, but he's yelling at me in arabic. Its getting really annoying to have to delete this voicemails.

I've already blocked 2 of his numbers from my cell phone service, but he keeps finding a new phone to call me. I have no idea how he got my number, its not listed on my webpage or linkedin or facebook, and its getting annoying. Sort of weird he got a 408 area code (for San Jose) and he is in Colorado.

Anyone know if there is something I can do besides having to update my phone blocking list every time? I only get to block 5 numbers.

I would call your cell phone provider and explain the situation - perhaps they can block any numbers from that area code.

Next time he calls, grab a whistle, a good quality one, and whistle into the phone. Continue this until he stops.

Call the FBI and tell them some guy is trying to recruit you for terrorist activities.

Call the police in his area with the phone number he is using.

Or get someone you know who speaks his language and see if they can reason with him.

This reminds of a weird "phone thing" that happened to me a few years back.

About 3 am my landline rang. I picked up:

Woman voice: Mr. Farhall this is your wake-up call.
Me: Ummm what?
Woman: It's 3 am and this is the wake-up call you requested
Me: (now louder) What - your calling me at my home!
Woman: Sir calm down, you requested our wake-up call service and this is your call.
Me: I DID NOT REQUEST A WAKE UP CALL AT MY OWN HOME
(click)

I star 69'd the number and it couldn't retrieve it. Makes sense it was a hoax but the voice was not familiar and no one ever fessed up.

If you tape the calls I can have them translated for you.

Yah maybe someone here knows Arabic; host the files somewhere and get a translation. Or, if nobody knows, I'll pretend I do and "translate" it free of charge.

CP - I love you

I'll try #1... maybe #2 if #1 doesn't work.

(in all seriousness - is this something you can go to the police to report? I'm not looking to press charges or anything, just to get this a-hole to stop calling me)

21 calls in one day? Yeah, I'd call the police.

In 2 hours, actually. I had a game, then checked my cell phone after the game and saw 21 missed calls... thought wtf... and yeah, for 20 minutes went had to go through 21 voice mails of some language I didn't understand.

Though who knows if they would actually have time to do anything about it.. and since it's across state lines doesn't that make it tougher?

If you keep blocking eventually he'll run out of #'s, I doubt he'll realize that you'll have to delete one after 5.

Yeah I'm wondering that . I guess I was more asking, is this something you can even go to the police about or will they just laugh at me and tell me to go away?

Doesn't hurt to call them if you ask me. Who knows, maybe this guy is doing it to other people as well. At least then it is documented. Even if they laugh at you (they won't), does it matter?

Play some porn and put the phone next to the speaker. Every once in a while get on and mention 'your daughter is still busy, hang on'.

That sounds like a good way to have the freak make a house call.

I'd say post his number here and loose CP on him but I think prank calling across international lines is a boot-able offense.

Phan, you just have to reason with him, and he'll stop yelling at you...
