Thanks for reminding me!
I would be plenty pissed if I missed the first part of the Flames game tomorrow.

It saves on power since more people are awake when the sun is out and helps businesses which rely on sunlight hours like retail, tourism, leisure, etc.
Bad for farmers and nighttime entertainment though.

I like sitting on the patio in the summer time playing 'guess what time it is'.

So I set it ahead, like if it were 2pm it would actually be 3pm. I effing hate this stuff, why can't it just be normal time all the time.

I'd prefer we don't set out clocks back in the fall and leave it as is. Having more sunlight at the end of the day is preferable to me.

how is it bad for farmers again? we still get the same amount of sunlight regardless of what the clocks say, why are they affected?

ugh. I went to bed at 1:00 this morning, only to realize it was basically 2:00, and had to get up at 6:30 for work. I'm basically sitting here at work like a zombie, trying to wake up still. Glad it's Sunday, so it's only me and only had two customers so far At least I'm getting caught up on CP, even if I do have to read most of the posts 2 or 3 times

The whole spring forward / fall backward thing is like my ying and yang. One is black, the other white. One is chocolate milk, the other plain. One is an extra hour of sleep after getting hammered drunk the night before, the other one hour quicker to getting to work Monday.
Spring ahead sucks.

What I used to hate about DST was having to walk around the house and change the time on all the clocks. When I was 12 I had to go around and set everything because my parents couldn't figure out how to change them (particularly the VCR).
Today I had to change my alarm clock. That's it. The two PVRs, the cell phone, the computer.... almost everything that I use to tell time automatically changes.

Unbeknownst to us last DST, my wife's new alarm clock changes itself automatically. She was extra early for work that day.

Because if the cows are used to getting milked at 6:00, with DST now the farmer will have to wake up earlier to milk them.
I'm not saying I agree with them not changing, I just have been told that enough times.

I''m a huge fan of the way it is with DST only being in the summer. In December, I'd much rather the sun not rise at 9:30am, only for it to be down by the time I get home from work anyway. (If DST was in effect year round). And we clearly need DST, because who wants an hour of sunlight between 4:30 and 5:30 am, instead of 9-10 pm?
Keep everything the way it is please.

I cannot remember the last time I missed that the time was changing. This morning, we were taking out little guy to swimming lessons, and my wife yells from the bedroom, something to the effect that the cable box said an hour later than we thought... needless to say we were about 45 minutes late and missed his lesson (thankfully we were able to get into the next slot - as there were only two people who actually made that slot).

Actually, Enmax admitted last year that switching the clocks made absolutely no difference in power consumption.

On one hand i hate having the sun shine on me while I'm on the ctrain (it nauseates me for some reason), while on the other I like being able to actually walk my dog by something other than starlight.

I think it would be weird without daylights savings. The sun would rise at 4:30am in the Summer or 9:30am in the Winter, I think that would be brutal.
