Default Seinfeld reunion ... sort of.

All four are going to guest star on multiple episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm next season.

I love Seinfeld, I have all the seasons.

Actually when I quit my job a few months back I watch all of them from beginning to end. The last show is truly a disappointment.

Michael Richards has actually found a gig since his infamous racist tirade?

Curb your Enthusiasm is easily one of the best shows out there.

That last episode was such a let down. Possibly my least favorite of the series.

Oh, for sure. It was ludicrous on so many levels as to be completely absurd, even by the zany standards that Seinfeld was pushing. A cheap excuse to relive the old episodes and bring back the old characters.

I love Seinfeld, as much as the next person, I've seen every epsiode multiple time, I can quote so many episodes, but I can't bring myself to buy them since there's re-runs on literally 12 times a day.

I thought that too. But once I got a chance to watch the series from start to finish, it made me love the show even more. The episodes aren't like a TV drama where if you miss one you lose track of the storyline, but they still sort of continue from one to the next in there own kind of way. Great show regardless.

I thought the last episode was pretty good. It very cleverly epitomized the four of them. Starting with the fact that they were too busy mocking someone to help him, then with their indifference at the end that they're going to jail for a year. I believe that was the entire idea behind Seinfeld. Sure, they like to claim that it's a show about nothing, but really, it's a show about people that are totally self absorbed and learn nothing from any given lesson that life throws at them.
So for the show to end the way it did, especially talking about the top shirt button, which, IIRC, was one of the first 'nothing' bits on the show, was very fitting.
That said, it certainly wasn't the funniest episode.

I remember Jerry Seinfeld was on Leno the night before the series finale aired, and even he said the finale wasn't very good. I suppose with a show like that, its kinda hard to wrap it up. I mean its not like there was an on-going plot or anything. The way they brought back all the old characters was awesome. But if it was just on TV as another random episode, ya its pretty crappy.

And Curb is easily one of the best shows out there. The LD is just ahead of Louis CK as the funniest person on the planet.

Not just the first "nothing" bits but one of the first bits ever. The opening episode might even have that as the first scene.

Curb is great, LD is basically a mix of George and Jerry. He has the wit of Jerry and the inability to let ANYTHING go, of George.

Only thing I hate about that show is Larry's wife, she is a terrible actress. The problem is that Curb doesn't have scripted scenes, just an outline of what has to happen in the scene, so that actors ad lib the dialogue, and its painful to constantly see the gears turning as she speaks trying to come up with something to say.

I agree with this.

I was really let down by the finale the first time I saw it, probably because there was so much build up. It was this big extravaganza and then we get a clip show. But having seen it several times since, I actually think it was pretty fitting for the reasons you mentioned. We got to see some of the better moments/characters from the show and we get some 'nothing' self centred bits. It encapsulated the feeling of the whole show.

I've heard great things about Curbed, but have yet to watch even a minute of it. Some day...
