Thumbs up Toronto is so great!

Toronto!

Tee-OH, The T-Dot, Hogtown, The Big Smoke, The Big Banana, The 416, The Centre of the Universe!! Whatever you call it, Toronto is just soooo cool!

The city that the rest of Canada loves (to hate) turns 175 today!

I just thought that we should have one (1) thread/ string where we could keep all of our Toronto love in one place. So try to stay on topic of why Toronto is so great... no need to fata with new Toronto threads/strings.

While celebrating Toronto day today I ran across this nice gallery of reasons why Toronto is so great. Link.

Some of the reasons:

They have festivals, sports, and public transit! Yeah Toronto!!

It was Lanny's first stop in his NHL career. Ballard was such a dumb jerk that he traded him and eventually he made his way to Calgary and the Flames. So --YES--thank you T.O for that bit of stupidity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's so far away that I've only been once and that was mainly to see Niagara Falls. Plus when given a choice of heading East or South for a holiday T.O. just makes the decision so easy. California here I come.

I hate Toronto. Being there, makes me sick and makes my blood boil. And it smells like rotten fish just about everywhere.

... They do have some good pubs though.

The big smoke is not so bad... there are a dozen US cities that are worse.

I have a buddy out there and always enjoy an annual visit. Best pub crawl of my life was in TO.

Saying that the traffic sucks is probably an understatement.

I have a lot of friends, family and good memories from there. Most people who bash it don't have a clue. There are good and bad things at any place. At least it isn't Edmonton!

I recall when that happened, my minor league coaches shaking their heads and saying how that will destroy a pretty solid team, and it did. A long decline until Cliff took over and "the trade".

yup, got to go to TO a couple of years back and met one of my favourite people off Calgarypuck there.
TO is a very cool city. as much as I may hate the Make Beliefs, Toronto itself is a world class city!

The Toronto Islands are great...have stayed there a couple of times...something pretty unique for a city like that I think.

It's a nice city but a bit too big for my liking. It's not as great as people say but not as bad as people say either.
