Today I heard a noise in my house early in the afternoon I didn't think to much of it at the time thought it was the fridge or something. Well tonight I got home and I still heard the noise so I walked around the house and into the basement and I heard the sump pump running, it must have been running all day. So I looked outside and nothing was coming out of the pipe. The pipe runs underground outside about 12 to 18 inches deep and then 90's up at the edge of the curb and 90's out over the curb.
I ran a hose into the outlet side and the water came back out the end I was putting water in. Therefore I know its frozen or at worse some kid jammed something in there. I do think its frozen though because I put a hanger in there and got pretty far before it hit the end.
Anyways I've got a question is there some sort of inhibitor I can get for my sump to put in my PVC piping to unfreeze the pipe?
I am going to install a tee with a valve this spring as a bypass for next year but with the spring thaw coming my sump fills up quite quick and I want to get it dethawed as fast as possible.
