Vegas hotels - Venetian vs Wynn
Thought I'd tap into the collective wisdom of CP here. We've got our shortlist of hotel choices down to the Wynn and Venetian for an upcoming trip. Which one is better?

Wynn is newer, but you pay for that. If Wynn is an option I'd say there.

I've stayed in both. I like the Wynn better, next time I go I'll probably be staying there. I've found since the new tower in the Venetian opened it has been incredibly busy inside, guess that happens when you're the largest hotel in North America. I don't think you can go wrong with either one though, Venetian has more restaurants and shops, the Palazzo is nice.

This isn't fully true, the new tower at the Venetian, which is its own seperate hotel (but part of the Venetian conglomerate I guess) just as large as the Venetian tower just recently opened, it is nice, has a casino, shops, restaurants. The nightclub Lavo is nice there as well.

Thanks, It's been a few years and Wynn had just opened last time I was there. Didn't know Venetian had a new tower.

Both are 5 star, outstanding facilities.
I guess it depends on whether you want an Italian theme or a modern, generic luxury theme.

The Wynn is incredible, never been to the new Venetian, but Trump Towers is wickedly good as well (and at almost half the price as Wynn), but no casino

Both are extremely nice hotels. I guess the arguement could be made that the Venetian is more central, but it's a toss up.

Trump isn't on the strip either.
I've never stayed at either place but heard good things about both. Last time I was in Vegas they were still doing construction on Palazzo. At that time it felt like when you went to Wynn you left the business of the strip, however that could have been due to the Palazzo construction right next door.
The Venetian/Palazzo will of course be busy, but Wynn just opened up Encore, so they'll probably be just as busy. Keep in mind that tourism is down in Vegas so it won't be as busy as say two years ago.
They both look nice, are close to each other and both opened up new towers. You can't go wrong with either choice.

The Wynn just opened up a new hotel too and it's called Encore - I believe it's newer than the Palazzo (or whatever it's called).
If you're looking to party, I wouldn't stay at either of these hotels - you'll want to be at either Hard Rock or The Palms.

I wasn't aware the Palazzo opened a year before the new Wynn tower... Anyways, I was just there over new years, and as I was saying before both hotels are great. The partying isn't that bad at the Venetian, we went to Tao and Lavo and both were great. Haven't gone to Tryst before so can't comment on that one.
