Default Least Favorite Class

What has been the one course that you have hated the most, it doesn't matter when you took the course or what grade. My example is in highschool right now math pure is torture, I failed math 10 the first time I took it then I did it online this year and had to get an extention to finish it. It's the only class I've ever failed.

I'm 32 and have completed university. Math 30 was the hardest class I ever took. Did it twice, I had a tutor and I went to Renert Tutorials. I think I graduated with like a 67% or something after all that effort.

Math 30. I couldn't hack it. Then I transferred to Math 33, and it was as if I was in grade 6 math. I was and still am terrible at math. Fast forward to last year, I needed to know how to do long division, and I completely forgot how.

For what it's worth, I've done pretty much all the math in the "book" and I'm not sure if I could do long division right now. I remember it comes up in first year calculus somewhere and I was totally lost.

My least favourite class was probably a first year computer science course I took on java. It was mind-numbingly boring.

HMs to a class I'm taking right now, "metaethics" and to advanced calculus. *shiver*

Well, speaking of class, and high school, at noon on a monday shouldnt you be in one?

For me:

Coms 363 during third year university.

It was a technical writing class, which I am fine at, but it was the first year that Business let the Communications and Culture faculty run the class and they screwed it up, big time.

The prof burned through his TA time in the first month and the Dean of C&C had to do all of the rest on her own, the lectures were either at 8:00am or 6:00pm, no other options. After the second lecture people realized that this ###### didnt know jack and just stopped attending his lectures entirely.

Further, we had two huge projects that were ongoing the entire semester, one group and one individual and then 2-3 projects per week. At the end of the semester he asked for an electronic copy and a paper copy of EVERYTHING we'd done over the whole semester. He had to rent a 5 Ton Cube Van to haul it all so he could work on it at home.

No one got a single grade all semester long, we didnt get our final grade until almost March, and great, I got an A, but it was SO much work that my grades in other classes were significantly affected, the newspaper did a write up about how bad a job this ass did.

He was promptly fired before the second semester had to have him. I was pissed. Biggest debacle I have ever been a part of.

Risk Management 439 - Life Insurance

Soooooooooooo boring, sooooooooooo poorly taught. Such interesting subject matter...let's learn about convoluted tax law that you'll never need to know unless you work for a life insurance firm....early in the morning! REALLY wish that I had taken another 300 level business option.

Honourable Mention: Finance 317 because I'm cramming for it right now

Locke I was originally confused when you said COMS...Who could hate COMS it's such a bull easy course. But that's brutal!

I find that interesting. I am a Computer Science grad, and the "Intro to Java/OO" class was among my favourites in university.

Worst course was on "Software Metrics'. Absolutely worst prof ever, assignments were complete bull, TAs who had no idea what the point of the class was. The material itself is fairly practical, but as presented, was just an awful, awful experience.

CPSC425 -- liked the material, hated the prof. Pretty much ended up teaching the course to myself. Fortunately, it was also pretty easy.

I remember how, but only because I need to know how for the field I'm in (i.e. building circuits that do math).

Religious studies 200. WTF did I take religious studies?

But for anyone who's interested, the Rig Veda is the oldest of all the Vedas. Yup. The Aryans, who migrated to some hardtospell valley in 1000 B.C wrote it, or something. They were noble people.

I'm using my iPod touch, it makes being at school on a Monday a little more bearable.

I wouldnt be spending my High School lunch hour cruising on CP.....who am I kidding? Of course I would.

Damned children and their lunch times and recess. I miss recess.

Its funny, of all the kids I coach, Pure Math is public enemy #1. Last semester I lost more kids to Pure Math tutors over soccer practice/games than any other reason, and one of these guys is in Marching Band....MARCHING BAND!!
