Default CPS Crime Mapping

Search didnt turn anything up. Sorry if its a report... im surprised this hasnt been posted.

http://crimemap.calgarypolice.ca/

To provide the citizens of Calgary with another interactive
outlet to explore and chart crime in their community and
across the city, the Calgary Police Service has developed a
new, easy-to-use online Crime Mapping application.

Starting today, Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, Calgarians will be
able to learn about what kinds of incident are occurring in
their community, with just a few simple clicks of a mouse.

Through this web application, members of the public are able
to search specific crime types and timeframes in any area,
and then display the results on a map.

Ok, quick poll. How many people looked up Forest Lawn right after checking their own neighbourhood?

I notice there is no such category "Hobo Stabbings." Or is that because CPS considers that to be a victimless crime?

Haha, yep. If you set the parameters to show every kind of crime in the last 6 months, it's incredible. Something has happened on every street corner there, lol.

Check out Beltline for a good laugh. It's worse than Forest Lawn.

You can almost see the cases of Domestic Assualt when the same residential location comes up multiple times on the six month view. I would imagine that a lot of bars would have multiple assults too for more commerically inclined places.

Not much happening in my area, mostly just vandalism and theft. Oh and a whopping 3 assaults in 6 months.

I want to know how accurate the little pointer things are, because there has been 1 assault in my community in the last 3 months, and it's pointing directly at my house.
