The Calgary Police Service has charged a Calgary-area man
with several weapons offences following a search of an
acreage in Rockyview.
On Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at approximately 7 a.m., District
5 members, with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response
Team, executed a warrant in search of stolen property.
During the search, police located 16 guns, including one
assault rifle, as well as one blow gun loaded with a metal
dart, two crossbows, and a crate containing various kinds of
ammunition. A truck stolen from Calgary in August 2005, was
also recovered at the Rockyview acreage. None of the weapons
were registered and their origins are unknown.
