I want to get a name and numbers put on a hockey jersey, and the drones at Jersey City said it will take 2 - 4 weeks! WTF? They couldn't even guarantee it would be done by the 19th of this month.
Are there any other places in town to get this done in a decent time frame, and with decent quality?

What kind of jersey is it? If it's an NHL jersey, and you want the official lettering/numbering, I think it gets sent to BC regardless of where you go (that is if you're getting it sewn on). So it would probably be a similar time-frame anywhere. I think that's how it works, I may well be wrong.

All the 'big' places in Calgary send it to the same place... Great Plains (I think). It's in Calgary, but due to all of them using the same place, it takes atleast 2 weeks.
They will tell you 2-4 weeks to cover their ass. I used to work for both Jersey City, and Game On Sports, and you don't want to see a customer when you tell them that the jersey you said will take 2 weeks hasn't come back yet. They think it's like throwing away $100.
You can get a jersey done up with the plastic, but we all know that looks like crap, but it will be done quicker.
The only other thing I saw was durring the playoffs, the FanAttac was 'glueing' on numbers and namebars to meet with the demands of crested jerseys. Although this is a reasonable alternative, it won't last as long as the stiched on.
If you need it right away, good luck. You'd be better off trying to find it pre-crested already if it's a player jersey. If it's your name, or a personalized jersey, enjoy the next 'up to' four weeks.
I hope that helps ya.
PS - I don't know what the smaller places do (Premier Sports, if that place is still around, etc). If you take it to the big 3, expect 3 weeks or less.

Those heat pressed ones are horrible, it'll fall off within 3 months of regular wearing (once a week)

Great Plains is the Official Crester of the Calgary Flames and the only one in town licensed to crest NHL jerseys. The vast majority of business in town goes to them.

hmmm.... i've had 3 jerseys pressed on, they've all lasted well over 2 years of regular wearing. I'm going to have them stitched eventually but not until i see them start to come off.

You may have to take off the name bar yourself, and pay for the new lettering/name bar.

Here is my next question. The jersey is signed on the C, would I have any problems getting it back?

You shouldn't, they have quite the reputation. I've delt with people who brought in signed jerseys when I worked with Jersey City, and got the jersey crested.
There was only one instance, not sure if they were with Great Plains yet. A guy brought in a retro Reds jersey looking to get it crested with Pete Rose's name and number. Never came back... and there were issues with it.
Over the 3 or so years of working in the Jersey selling industry, I sent out dozens of jerseys a week, and only had one go missing.
