Default Dumb Dual Monitor Question

A friend has a computer running Vista with dual outputs

one VGA, one DVI

she's trying to hook it up so both outputs are showing the exact same thing. Right now she can't get it off the extended desktop. No matter what fooling around she does she can only get her powerpoint presentation on one screen, or the second screen has the "presenters view" but she wants the same on both.

Shouldn't there be a simple way to clone the DVI input to be the same as the VGA?

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

(Vista)

Should be able to no problem (I am right now). What kind of video card is it? If it's nvidia, you can do this by right clicking the desktop, go into nvidia control panel, then under display you should see "set up multiple displays". On the right under #1, it gives 3 options (single, clone or dualview)... you want to select Clone.

All you should need to do is right click anywhere on the desktop and select "Personalize", then a window will pop up with personalization options. At the bottom of the list will be "Display Settings", select that and another window will open.

Click the "Identify Monitors" button and select the one on the display that is not the main monitor. There should be a checkbox labeled "Extend the desktop onto this monitor". Uncheck the box and apply the settings. That should put the same content on both monitors.
